This is it! The final prompt. Thank you all so much for the awesome response to our slightly different EF event. Your contributions have confirmed something we already knew, but like to prove as much as possible anyway -- our writers are some of the most creative out there. Give yourselves a well-deserved pat on the back.

YOUR FIC MUST CONCLUDE WITH AN HEA/HFN

This prompt will be SUPER easy for some of you (many of whom already have their fics labeled thusly, so, you’re welcome) and, well, less so for others. But remember that HFN stands for “Happy for Now,” so if you’re really dead-set on gutting readers, consider your fic’s conclusion a natural stopping place for this particular act of your overall story and continue with the gutting in future installments. Since this fic stands on its own, and future installments are Brand New Fic and not burdened by event prerequisites (unless, say, we do this again and that’s where you decide to continue it), you’re in the clear.

REMINDERS

• Your fic has a HARD goal of 5 chapters. This means THIS CHAPTER is the last one! If you want to write more, great! But that’s sequel fodder, since more chapters should not be added to this fic (even after the event ends). If you want to write less, we get it, but that will likewise disqualify you from the event.
• All chapters MUST be posted within the allotted time-window to qualify for the event.
• Each chapter MUST include that week’s prompt. (This one seems obvious, but better safe than sorry.)
• Each chapter MUST be tagged with the prompt and the fulfilling line/paragraph/passage in your chapter’s end-notes by the time the posting window closes for that prompt. We check and disqualify fics that do not include this, as well as fics posted outside of the weekly time window. If you haven’t added your end-note for Chapter 4, you have until EOD site-time on August 1.
