Plus I know there are talented authors out there that can do them more justice than I could.

I hope a few of those challenges do get taken up. I have so many WIPS on my laptop it's obscene. I had to let go of the ones I haven't written on in the hopes of focusing myself. But if no one writes on them, I'll obsess, cause I'm wrong like that.

Tempest has put of several challenges that have such potential for rich storytelling. I hope someone responds. I do so appreciate all the writers here on EF.

Good call on tempest's challenge, knightowl. Has a very Brothers Grimm feel to it. I kinda really love it, can't wait till someone writes it

@ spoikesbytch thanks for your suggestion of the Bowiebara series, but still not the story I was looking for, though I agree with you that it is an excellent series. I'd think that I'd dreamt the story but my imagination is not that good. Thanks anyway.

I'd just like to say that tempest has put up a really good challenge up with spike as a statue.

queenfish - I think the fic you are talking about is from the Bowiebara series by Mustang Sally & RivkaT. EXCELLENT set of stories.

Despite this writer being the same one that wrote Spike for A&F and pissed a ton of Spuffy fans off, he has a great Spike voice in this season.

Time for SC's monthly comic review!! #4 just came out today. Lots of introduction for epic coming adventure. I was so wrapped up in it that I was shocked to find myself already at the end. No official Spuffy yet, but they have that awesome best friends vibe that they had mid season 7.

Darkest Night, the fic you're looking for is If You're Sure by Sweetprincipale. Ti' the fourth instalment in the a Sex and Candy series. The scene you mention takes place in chapter 4. Have a good read

wealthy and had the dog specially trained for her. There were no scoobies but there were vamps and demons and Spike was a vamp. Thanks anyway though, one of the many great things about this site is that everyone is so helpful, even when details are as sketchy as the ones I can give.

Hi Dark Rapunzel, thanks for your recommendation of Love is Blind by TammyDevil666, but unfortunately it's not the one I'm looking for. There is no little sister and Buffy is living in an apartment with her dog who has been trained to guide and protect her. I have a feeling that her family was

Darkest Night, that might be in Unknown, the 3rd in sweetprincipale's "Where the Wild Things Are" AU series. I remember lots of Joyce art gallery scenes in that awesome fic.

Hey, I also have a fic I'm looking for that thought you guys might be able to help me with. I remember a scene where Angel comes by Joyce's art gallery only to find Spike with Joyce, and he attacks, they think he is Angelus. After a confrontation Buffy asks Angel to pay for the damage. Thanks!

Hiya Queenfish :) It sounds like the second fic you're asking about could be Love is Blind by TammyDevil666

Many thanks tempestt, I knew it must be a time travel one but just couldn't remember whose it was. It was driving me mad. In the other one I think they ended up fighting some kind of spider monster under the university library, might not have been on this site. Second Chance here I come, lol.

Queen, the first one is Second Chances by Jackofspikes. I have no idea about the second one.

Can anyone help me find a couple of fics please? Can't remember much of the first one, only that Buffy donated her blood to get Drusilla well and Joyce gave it to Spike in a Thermos, the other one I don't think Buffy is the Slayer as she is blind and has a guide dog, she & Spike live in the same

I try to review as I go if it is a WIP but if it's already up then I like to just keep reading as time allows. I don't think I give very helpful reviews, but I do try to be encouraging.

I share my stories because I enjoy sharing. Reviews are wonderful but I don't get upset when I don't get them. It IS lovely seeing a number of reads stat though so you don't feel like you are "writing to yourself".

Personally I get stoked seeing the states on number of reads more than the (MUCH APPRECIATED) reviews. I also understand that sometimes one has no time to review or moves from chapter to chapter so I don't get upset. I write because I must not necessarily for reviews/approval.

I've never approved of the "I won't post the next chapter until I get X more reviews" or whatever, but I fully support brief mentions of "If you like the story, please leave a review!" because they really do encourage you to continue writing. One's tactful... the other not so much.

... thankfully, almost all writers on this site fall into the former category

Of course, jhiz, no quibble with people asking for feedback. It's the demanding and/or threatening to discontinue a work unless a certain number of reviews are received that's the annoyance. There's a difference between wanting critique and encouragement, and feeling entitled to praise. Thankfully..
June 17, 2014 02:11pm

You just wouldn't bother putting the words where others can see them. Writers want feedback. It makes them better and more prolific.
June 17, 2014 01:57pm

jhiz
If you did not want the feedback, you would still write the words (I mean, really, its what we did before we knew fan fiction existed anyway, right?)
