have to say that it is issues like that and how everyone threw buffy out of the house that make me prefer stories that show Buffy leaving after that. Cant remember the name but I just read a WIP where she goes to D'hofferen for sanctuary.

Giles can give for wanting Spike gone. They never revisit that decision or show closure between the two. If they had, and Spike better trusted, then at least Willow would have been available to try and save Fred in AtS Season 5.

Willow has more credit than he gives Spike. He even brings up how Angel had the presence of mind to leave Buffy and have her own life while Spike lacks that "better judgment." So his relationship with Buffy clearly played a part for Giles involvement. When you sum it all up that is the only reason

But combine his feelings about Buffy, Spike turning all he learned upside down and Wood giving him an excuse m his rush to kill Spike almost makes sense. If he really wanted to kill the most dangerous person he would have gone after Willow.

If Giles knew that Wood got his info from the First Evil it wouldn't be defensible. I don't see him as knowing about that though. If he had known he would have asked why would the First tell Wood and figured out that the First considered Spike a threat.

Figure out a way to defend Giles but I can't. If he waited a few more days, given it time, then maybe I can see Giles being justified in making that play. As it is I think he was acting more like a father than a watcher, something he has done in the past. I think that father-mentality becomes a

Eh, regardless of how he got the information as soon as he saw that coat I'm fairly certain he would have begun to make the connection. They could've kept Spike chained up until they found another way. Eventually the thing would've detriggered him regardless. I'm trying really hard here to

I was thinking maybe it would happen post Chosen and maybe Giles found out that Wood got his info from the First and that by trying to kill Spike he was doing the First's dirty work.

@ladycat I can't think of any off the top of my head. The only way I can see it happening from my POV is if the First planned on using the fact to further divide Buffy and company. That would make sense after Spike was detriggered and the First wanted to further alienate Wood.

I never thought of it since I don't tend to read stories as they get posted, but someone on another site requested it, and I helped her figure out how to set it up. I figured I'd see if there was interest to have it here as well. I didn't want to just add it in case it wouldn't be useful & would just clutter up the browse pages. If you have an opinion, let me know via PM. Thanks!

Quick question, would it be handy if in the story listings (ex. the recent, titles, etc... pages) there was a link that took you directly to the most recent chapter of a story? Right now there's a TOC link, and if you click the title it takes you to either ch. 1 or the TOC (based on your prefs).

The story I have in mind is pretty Joyce-centric with some Crowley from SPN action. Spuffy would be slow to develop so I don't know if it would be interesting. TheOldestOne -Chosen After Death by Jackofspikes has a powerful Buffy that claims Spike.
