Guess who's back, back again? That's right, ME! With a brand new event announcement.
Starting from today and running until the end of March, Elysian Fields is hosting Finishing Months, in which the goal is to either complete a story (or stories) started for any of the previous challenge months*, OR finish off a longstanding WIP.
We're defining a longstanding WIP as a fic that was started prior to 1st January 2021.
If you complete one qualifying fic, you will get a bronze award.
Complete two and you get silver.
Three or more: gold, baby!
No shinies for artists, betas, or commenters in this specific case. (Sorry!)
People who feel they are eligible for an award must email EF (ssolace@gmail.com) during the first week of April with details we can verify. We need to know your username, we need link(s) to the relevant fic(s), and brief sentence detailing how/why it qualifies (eg "This fic was for April Challenge Month 2021," or "I finished a fic started in June 2020").
*Finishing abandoned Secret Santa gifts or Mystery Month stories that were not posted by their relevant deadlines do not count towards this event. (Unless they also meet the 'longstanding WIP' requirement.)

Edited to add/clarify: for longstanding WIPs to be eligible, some part of them must already be posted. Before the aforementioned date of 1st January 2021. This is simply so we can verify their eligibility. If you've been working on a fic for five years but not shared any of it, we have no way of knowing!

Mods, now you're making me want to finished my oldest fics just to get this award! Hahahahahaha!😂😂😂 Alright, let's see where this challenge takes me...
By unfinished, I assume you mean that we need to have posted part of it already? It doesn't count stories we started but didn't start posting yet?
Now if the fates give me some nice blocks of time and a non-fuzzy brain I'll get 'er done LOL. All mine will be finished sooner or later so there is that at least to give me comfort. 2 of my long fic/long term are fairly close too.
Does the October 2022 road trip challenge count?
@BewitchedXx - Yes, that counts. The only challenges that don't count were named in the post 
@the_big_bad - Yes, we're specifically referring to fics that were started on/before Jan 2021 OR existing WIPs that were started as challenge fics (except for Mystery Month and Secret Santa, as both of those events were/are deadline driven)

I am wondering, though, how come you've decided not to include awards for commenters? Especially for long-standing WIPs, those would be a super powerful booster to writers, wouldn't they?
@MaggieLaFey simple answer is that adding a commenter award would be more work on the back-end/logistical side of things. The event spans three months, and we have no real way to tell en mass if comments are going to fics taking part, or new work.
Agree - I love this event there are some very good works that I have wished would be completed. A big "thanks" in advance to all who complete their other challenge event stories.

Oh my gosh!! I'm SO SO happy. I was thinking about this the other day, as it had been mentioned on the EF FB page as an idea a while ago. WHeee! I hope I can at least hit the Bronze. (not the club)
