Braxen: there is a similar site to fanfiction (uses the same mechanics) called fictionpress. I have writers in my circle who use it.

So sad that The Triad Series by Bitterness was never finished. I'm in love with this story at the moment and just finished the sequel :(

Thank you Susan and Autezma_mete! :) Very much appreciated.

Braxen it's not what you're looking for but you could try nanowrimo. You don't post the fic there but the forums are amazing and organised by nationality you may have more luck there. I'd rec. It anyway just for the encouragement and support you get.

Braxen, check out wattpad. I don't have much experience with it, but I know it can be used for sharing original fiction. I looked, and there seems to be a good number of stories in Swedish: http://www.wattpad.com/...edish .

Oh wow, that sucks I'll keep my eyes open let you know if I find anything.

Thank you dorian, but it's not fanfiction - that's the rub. I checked fictionpress, but there were very few recent posts in Swedish, it felt quite dead. I tried to google but couldn't find anything. If you want to write fanfiction on One Direction on the other hand... ;)

I know you can post in Swedish on fanfiction, or you could the last time I checked.

Any Swedes here that know of good sites to post original fiction in Swedish? My niece (16) has started writing a story and I would like to encourage her to post it somewhere. Right now I’m her “beta” and it's a whole new and fun way for us to socialize. :)

Awesome to see so many new stories going up. Hi new authors! To think, we were just celebrating 500 and now we're up to 521.

Thank you for the nomination for review of the month. I feel guilty as I should review more than I do. Thank you again.

Just wanted to make a note in case anyone else has been experiencing issues: Last month sometime, Overdrive Media updated on the Kindle Fire and since then I have not been able to get it to accept outside eBooks. Today I downloaded Aldiko and it works awesome. I can once again enjoy eBook fanfics.

A little late to the party but I wanted to thank you guys for the nomination for author of the month!

The currently featured fics are all current fics, but that's just because we've been inundated with new, awesome stories. However, usually pfeifferpack, the fabulous mod who chooses the featured fics, does her best to provide a variety of ratings, story lengths, newer/older fics.

Thanks Susan - I was looking under 'Categories' for the list of past featured stories, but couldn't find it (I swear it used to be there!).

This is my favorite place to start, full of fics you've probably never heard of: http://spuffy-recs.livejournal.com/

All the stories mentioned so far have already been featured, and we don't tend to feature a story more than once. To view all the past and present featured fics, click the 'Featured Stories' link in the sidebar, or click browse, then Featured. From there, you can look and sort through all the fics.

There are many classic rec lists available on LJ and elsewhere if you're ready to move beyond the Tops Lists.

They are all new-ish stories atm, but usually at least one of the featured stories is from times past.

Featured Stories are the current stories. Sort like the difference between Book of the Month Featured selection and the Classical novels like Pride and Prejudice type of stories. I hope I said it right. blah

many of them seem newish WIP

um, isn't that what featured stories is doing? they aren't always new ones....

Oh, I think that is an excellent idea. There are so many well written stories. I'm sure I've missed some and it would be great to acknowledge the writers while clueing in the rest of us to the good stuff.

Barb C's A Raising in the Sun/A Parliament of Monsters and KnifeEdge's West of the Sun East of the Moon, for starters. Susan, any thoughts?

Yep, I think I read the whole thing in one go, over the course of about 3 days. Worth. every. minute. Valerie 21601, I think that's a great idea, I can think of at least 2 other stories off the top of my head that deserve that kind of recognition:

I concentrated on reading the first Origins story for nearly a week, because I was so caught up in it.

How about a Classic Featured S/B story of the Month like Origins. The best of the fan fics that have stood the test of time, starting maybe 2+ years ago? I know I only stumbled onto Origins because it was mentioned, in a review of another story on E.F. I was completely into it by third chapter.

I'm standing in the agreing line, the Originverse is one of the masterpieces.

I agree, I've probably reread Origins more than any of my saved fics.
