In October, Elysian Fields will turn sixteen years old! In the States, this means it’s time to finally take your driver’s test and enjoy some of the sweet, sweet freedom that comes with having the keys to your very own car. As such, it only seemed fitting that our theme for this year’s Anniversary Month would be… ROAD TRIPS! 

So buckle up and get yourself in gear––I’ll stop with the puns, I promise!

Here’s the rundown: 

• Fics for this event must be 1,500 words minimum, include or address the theme in some fashion, and have their first chapter posted during October––no earlier, no later.
• You do not have to finish your fic in October; you only have to post the first chapter. 
• Once you’ve figured out what you’re going to write, SUBMIT A BANNER REQUEST HERE. We’ll be making a page listing all the requests, which artists can then claim. 
• If/when a banner is claimed, we’ll let both parties know so you can figure out the nitty-gritty details. 
• Banners can be claimed at any point after the request list goes live and the end of the event (if they haven’t all been snapped up already). 
• Ideally, banners will be claimed, made, and given to authors by September 30th. If you won’t be able to complete a banner for the start of the event, please do not claim it until you have availability. 
• You can still take part even if you don’t have or want a banner, so long as your fic meets the requirements above. 
• Authors are free to make their own banners. 
• If you have a specific person in mind to make your banner, we recommend reaching out to them rather than putting forward a general request that anyone can claim.

Awards will be available for authors, artists, betas, and commenters.
