Okay, this is for fans of Doctor Who and Torchwood.
What if Jack Harkness was the Immortal? The comics have established that the Buffy that Angel and Spike were chasing in Rome was a decoy and that Andrew was just trolling them. So what if the two vampires find out about the decoy and find the Immortal only for the Immortal to be a guy with more knowledge of aliens than demons?
And where the heck is Buffy? Well, that's up to you. I want her and Jack to be friends, but nothing more than that. Jack may even help Spike and Buffy get together.
