i can agree with that thought. Stolen innocence would appeal to the demon.

From past postings on Spuffy Realm Pari says she has difficulty with paying server fees, especially this past year.
This was the issue the last couple of times SR had an account has been suspended notice on it.

Just an idea. Angel's whole moment of happiness thing. I've been thinking that it's not a moment of perfect happiness unless all of him is happy, demon include. Which makes sense with Buffy being an underage virgin slayer.

Queenfish, are you sure the story your looking for was Spuffy? RipeWickedPlum's Into The Darkness has Spike and an OC blind girl and her dog in the same apartment as Spike.

Thanks Lou, but not the one I'm looking for unfortunately.

Re blind Buffy fic, I know one - Love is Blind by Avalon on this site.

I noticed one cause of the muse, leaving them, is the writer jumps into writing their fan fic story without any plans or outlines. Before they started to write it out and sometimes they'll ask others to help them with ideas for their story.

because they're not getting any feedback or reviews they get disheartened and stop writing it in the middle of it.

Adopt a Fic is supposed to be where a writer voluntarily... The key word is voluntarily ... Lets someone else adopt their unfinished fan fic. Sometimes the writer for whatever reason can't or doesn't want to finish. Their muse ran off on them, to they lost interest in their own work, in some cases

I'm pretty sure that there was a livejournal for this at one point, or maybe on another board a while back. If memory serves, it wasn't well received then. Readers who mourn abandoned fics like the idea, but authors sincerely do not.

What is adopt-a-fic?

Megan - Could you put a notice in the Site News section about the new category?

@ Margueritedaisy replying to your email re the Blind Buffy story, no unfortunately I haven't yet found it. If I do, I will post the name here on the Shoutbox.

And to be clear, all fics added to this category MUST be placed by the author, not as a suggestion from anyone else. The new category is up now.

Okay, Susan and I have decided to be fair we will trial a category called 'Adopt-A-Fic' for one month. If there are no additions to the category by the 26th July, it will be deleted.

I have no problem with a writer changing their summary to say they are offering it up for another writer to complete, or adding a 'chapter' with the request in it.

I personally would not give permission for anyone to finish my work, nor would I be interested in picking up another writer's story to finish it. Totally cool with others doing it, ofc, it's just not something I'd be interested in.

When they get to the last chapter or two, they can add it on and see if anyone wants to take it over.

SoaringClaws, I think your idea, is so much better than mine. Those who want their fics adopted for whatever reason they can post a category tag on it.

Unless enough people show an interest in fic adopting, I don't think there should be a section on EF. If there is a minority of people who want to do it, they can maybe include it at the beginning of their story summary or in an A/N at the beginning of a chapter?
June 25, 2014 03:08pm

SoaringClaws
That being said, I don't think I would use the adoption feature as either the author finishing or wanting my fic finished.

SoaringClaws
On the subject of the adopt-a-fic thing: maybe just a category tag instead of a whole section? So an author could tag their story as adoptable and then interested author's could just do a category search? Coding isn't my field, so I don't know the difficulty difference.

BTW my story has been subject to a lot of editing, so it's actually better now than when I first posted it. At least I think so. ;)

Kind of reborn here. I've changed my username. :) I've written just one story, if you recognize it you know who I was before.

author as a co-author and they could then finish the story. Beyond that, I don't really see a site sponsored section where authors put up their stories with notes like 'free to good home' :) .

don't think there is. That said, we have no problem with an author noting in their story notes or summary that they are no longer interested in finishing, and they would like authors interested in finishing their stories to contact them. If given the ok by the original author, we could add the new

It's definitely settled that we'll never put stories up for adoption without the author's permission. The question now is, is there enough interest from authors who want to give away their stories or finish up another author's work for us to consider making a section on EF for that? Personally, I
