Experience: I don't have any formal beta experience, but would love to participate!
Story types/topics I will not beta or sensitivity read: -incest
Additional Comments: I work in healthcare/clinical research and am I published author. Professional writing has been a huge part of my life and I'm a better editor than writer. I'm an etymology nerd, and take grammar, word choice, spelling, and punctuation very seriously (my old username was intentionally spelled weird - long story).  I hate being taken out of a story by a misused or misspelled word in an otherwise great story, which is why I want to be a beta!
Fan of the Oxford comma.
I have detailed knowledge of BTVS, have watched all of Angel, and read seasons 8-9 of the comics. I'm a voracious reader and love a variety of stories - rated G to super smutty. I started reading Spuffy fic in Dec 2022 after binging the series starting in Sep 2022, and have literally read tens of millions of words worth of stories since then!

Turnaround for an average length chapter: 1-2 weeks
Experience: I first gained beta’ing experience through story feedback exchanges with writer friends in the OF realm.
Since late 2022, I have started beta’ing for EFers on the regular and am loving it.
I try for a 7 day turnaround but have set it to 1-2 weeks for now because I am studying for my master’s as well as working 30h/week, so delays might occur. I am probably most helpful for spelling & grammar, structural edits and input on characterization and story flow. Ultimately I believe your story is your baby (or cat, if you dislike kids, lol) and my job as a beta is to make it shine more while keeping your writing style and ideas intact.
yay
PS: I periodically forget that the DM function on the site exists. I am easier to reach via Discord DM (my username there is sari_simmony).
Story types/topics I will not beta or sensitivity read: I’m generally open to anything, though not a big fan of all human stories. But overall, I pick stories for the tone, themes, characterization and plot, so I wouldn’t categorically say no anything. If the concept excites me, I’m in. I usually want to see an excerpt to see if I'm the right person for your story before fully committing.
Additional Comments: + I speak/read/can help with use of foreign languages (German, French, some Spanish)
+ My day job is in social work so I’m familiar with psychology-adjacent topics.
+ I live in Western Europe so might be able to provide insight into European settings.
+ I love learning about history (especially European and American history), neurodiversity and musical theater. These look weird stuck together but I know a bunch about all three if that should ever, for whatever reason, become relevant.

Experience: In the strictest sense of the word, I've maybe beta'd a couple of times four or so years ago on fanfiction.net. Much of this was through PM although they began through reviews.
I've been associated with Rhov, although much of that has been through my art and a one-shot or two.
I've previously helped Spanish-speaking authors fine tune their English works, mostly due to figuring out speech patterns they implemented incorrectly, although I do have some minor fluency with Spanish.
Story types/topics I will not beta or sensitivity read: Lemons and explicit smut are not my forte, thus I won't be of much help with them anyway.
Note that I'm not 100% up to date with the canon story. Watched up to the end of the TV series when it originally aired, although it's rather fuzzy. It's been a decade. Currently re-watching season 2.
Additional Comments: Others have told me I have a way with integrating emotion into my writing and dialogue is something that tends to come naturally to me.
My way of plotting is a little backwards. I have a tendency to write intuitively and reactively, spewing out ideas provided some event or an inferred pattern. I  later stitch it together in a way that actually makes sense. I'm rather good at making things make sense, actually.

Experience: Beta: I'm new to betaing, but I'm pretty fast at reviewing things, so I have a quick turnaround. I'm good at catching errors and tightening things up a bit.
Sensitivity reading: I'm a therapist by trade and a fic writer by hobby, with over ten years of experience practicing. I'm also neurodivergent, AuDhd, and also have my own struggles with depression and anxiety on and off.
Story types/topics I will not beta or sensitivity read: I can't handle descriptive gore fics. Aside from that, I'm pretty open.
Additional Comments: Words to describe me, if it helps anything, would be: Latina, bisexual, feminist, sex-positive, Aquarius, vegetarian, dog rescue mom, mid-thirties, a social introvert, chipper but with the personality of Garfield the cat 25% of the time, germaphobe, oversharer, non-judgy, and a huge Beyonce fan. I know that none of that is truly relevant but I wasn't sure what else to write here lol.

Experience: I do not yet have beta experience, but I am very willing to help.
Story types/topics I will not beta or sensitivity read:
Additional Comments: While I do not yet have beta experience, I am a very skilled writer with great knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and structure. I frequently proofread and review papers for my brother's and my friends' college courses. I excelled on the writing section of the SAT, scoring a 780 out of 800, supporting my understanding of the written word.
I have read countless Spuffy stories and am familiar with numerous authors and works, so I can provide input to help prevent any unintentional plagiarism and to develop unique plot devices.
I have watched BTVS and ATS numerous times, and I own most of the comics. Thus, I have a strong and vast knowledge of canonical and character elements within the Buffy-verse, and I can provide feedback on canon-compliance and characterization.
I'm super willing to help out or chat with anyone who might be interested!

Story types/topics I will not beta or sensitivity read: Angst, or Buffy hate. Or them not being together. Or no hea.
Additional Comments: I need a beta as well. And will do the best I can to be a good beta to others.

Experience: I’ve helped few people with editing some works. Nothing professional at all. Though I can help with some small betaing, but nothing special. I have no qualifications.
Story types/topics I will not beta or sensitivity read:  I will not beta any fanfics that contain pregnancy, human!Spike, vampire!Buffy or rape.
Additional Comments: By the way, English isn’t my first language, so sometimes I might be wrong, but I can speak fluently three languages and I am learning another two or three languages.

Experience: I'm a great cook... in theory. I've eaten a lot.
I've done some beta work in another fandom under  a different name, but mainly I read a lot. You can also take a look at my writing here, such as it is. I have a good eye for grammar as well as flow, and a fairly good knowledge of canon.
