Beta Reader: someone who reads all or part of a fic before it is published and provides feedback, constructive criticism, or suggestions on some or all aspects the story (e.g., British or American English, canon elements, plot, grammar and spelling, or punctuation). The exact nature of the author/beta relationship is for the author to determine based on their unique needs and writing goals, and requires the beta reader's cooperation and understanding of same.

Sensitivity Reader: a specialized beta reader who has a lived experience or marginalized identity that the author does not, but which the author is intending to portray in their fic.
