So this was supposed to be a challenge response for the banner that Wonder and Ashes made for the October artistic challenge. I missed the cut-off date, but that doesn't mean I'm giving up on this. I will try for a weekly post schedule, but there are no promises. Anyway, the challenge will be written at the end of this chapter.
EDIT: Since the deadline for the fist chapter was pushed back, this fic is now officially part of the "Artistic anniversary challenge." Yey!
Here is the second helping of this story. Chapter titles will be from various songs I like. For this one, same as the previous one, the credits go to Apollo 440. Banner and challenge by Wonder and Ashes from right here on EF.
I'd like to thank my wife (Sotia from right here on EF) for all her support. I'd also like to thank once more the Powers that Be of EF for allowing this story to be part of the Artistic anniversary challenge even though it was posted later than the initial deadline.
I hope you all enjoy.
Still with the Apollo 440 song titles as chapter titles. Anyway, hope you like this.
This one was a harder chapter to write. It also marks the last chapter at least for a while with a title by Apollo 440. In other news, flootzavut was gracious enough to look it over a bit, so it's at least a bit more readable than other chapters.
Many thanks to my wife (ssddgr) for being my sounding board, as always.
Sorry for the delay in bringing this chapter to light, but there was a death in the family (my wife's grandfather).
Anyway, heeeeeere's Angel!
No beta (I didn't really get on-line at all the past two weeks, so... my fault), and the title is from The Prodigy.
David Bowie is responsible for the title this time. I had a very hard time getting through the discussion with Giles, but I hope I pulled it off. Due to the long time it took me to get this out, there has been no beta work on it.
I know, It's been an age. All I can say is the new job means waking up extremely early and getting home completely wiped, so writing hasn't been a real possibility, even though my muse keep poking me to do something (unfortunately I'm almost always at work so the chances of me doing something about it are almost nil).
I really want to continue this story, but I have to ask for your patience.
Starting with this chapter we're getting into the actual first season. The credit for the parts of dialogue taken from the show are copyrighted to the respective entities and are not used with any intent of making a profit.
That being said, Buffy meets Angel ;P
A couple of days later than I'd planned to have this up, but it's my kid's fifth birthday and the party with all his friends is tomorrow, so there's been a lot of cooking, baking, cleaning, and other such things. The bits and pieces taken from the show belong to Joss and all the appropriate entities. No moneys for me.
I just realized the Harvest was supposed to happen in March, not in January. Oh, well... let's say in this universe things are just that bit different that the specific night happened three months earlier than in the canon one. There. That saved it.
As usual the chapter title is copyrighted to the appropriate band/recording studio/whatever multinational company holds the rights. The few lines taken from the show's transcript are also property of the Joss/Fox/et al. I own and make nothing from this.
Chapter name from the song by DJ Shadow. Copyright and everything to whomever owns it.
And now for something completely different. After the previous chapter, which was one of the hardest things for me to write, came this, which was one of the most fun experiences I had writing. I hope it carries through.
So I wasn't going to end the story here, but I realized there would be quite a lull in action until the next baddie rears its ugly head. So, since I really liked the place here this left off, I'll consider this story complete as is. There is already a sequel in the works, though when I'll start posting on that I can't say. Needless to say I thank each and every one of the people who have reviewed (I will be answering each and every review, but it might take me a while), or simply 'liked' the story (that's what I usually do as well, since my phone refuses to allow me to review). I'd like to give a shout out to Wonder and Ashes for the challenge. Many thanks to my wonderful wife for acting as a sounding board/pseudo-beta.
