In “Crush”, Buffy goes back to Spike’s after talking to Willow & Joyce to “make sure he knows there isn’t a chance with her”. I mean, I think she was pretty clear the first time, but I get that she isn’t sure cause she was so surprised. But she enters his crypt pretty tentatively. What exactly was she planning to say and how much would he call her out for beating a dead horse? But also, could it have been a chance for a gentler actual conversation between the two of them? Bonus points for no creepy shrine reveal.
