This is my very first Elysian Fields posting and also my first real work in this fandom. Really, anything could happen here, from author “whoopsies” onward. Also, not being a chaos mage myself, I’m using the time-honored intellectual tradition of “winging it” on behalf of Ethan. I ask for your patience, please, as I perform without a net.
This story is unbetaed, so all goofs are mine. It is sans banner since I have zero clue how to create or post one. (A banner donation is welcome, although Ethan tells me that he happily creates his own artistic magic even without one.)
I expect this story to remain PG, but it’s Spuffy so this rating may change. Heck, anything may change. Oh, the fun!

This is very loosely based on S5:E2, Real Me, written by Joss Whedon and David Fury, with some dialogue respectfully borrowed from that episode.
This is very loosely based on S5:E3, The Replacement written by Jane Espenson, with some dialogue respectfully borrowed from that episode.
This chapter is a loose mash-up, borrowing dialogue and events from S5:E4, Out of My Mind, by Rebecca Rand Kirshner, S5:E5, No Place Like Home, by Douglas Petrie, and S5:E9, Listening to Fear, by Rebecca Rand Kirshner. It probably fudges Sunnydale’s putative geography in order to tell its tale. Feel free to blame Ethan for any ensuing chaos.
This chapter incorporates dialogue and events respectfully borrowed from S4:E22, Restless by Joss Whedon and Douglas Petrie and also S5:E7, Fool for Love by Douglas Petrie.
