Hello. I am new to this whole Elysian Fields Fanfic thing. Well, new writer anyhow, long time reader. I have been turning around this idea in my head for at least a straight month. I have read and enjoyed so many stories on here. I didn't want to commit something to "paper" so to say until I was confident that I had something people might enjoy reading. It's just me. I have no beta readers, and I don't know how to create a lovely banner. Perhaps this will be something I can learn over time. Will likely be updated sporadically as i'm about to partake in a large move to another state.

A few quick things:

I am going off Buffy TV series mainly. I may omit things that I found detracted from the main story or may alter the outcome of certain plot lines. I am not following any comic book storylines, I MAY dabble in some AtS lore. If I do it won't be much. I've only watched the first 2 seasons and part of the 5th. I find it tedious and hard to get through. I also dislike some of the backtracking that BtVS worked so hard to achieve. BtVS is interesting enough in it's own right to warrant all of my attention. I also want to explore and expand on character backstories. Since this is a time travel fic, some OC will have to be added as it can't be avoided. Don't worry. No one's OP or Mary Sued. I believe in keeping even my super natural characters grounded. Starting a R rating mostly for language and violence to start. Might be changed later accordingly.

*This chapter was an undertaking. Granted it is a labor of love. I wanted to give myself plenty of time to write and think. The first part I wrote was the last part as it was crucial, and imperative to get right. The rest of the chapter I had outlined in my head and as I started writing it, pretty much wrote itself. Yeah, so i'm super sorry about posting this way past the time I originally intended to. I started a full time shift on my job a few weeks back and it has been kicking my butt. So i've found myself in the realm of little to no energy. I'll eventually adjust and be able to balance out everything else eventually and return to posting more regularly.

Friends,

My humble apologies for the delay on posting up this chapter. Last I posted the delays were mostly with the inability to find the time to write the story the way I want to and the way you deserve it, and my dissatisfaction in my work situation. In the ensuing time, it’s been more nuclear disasters in a short amount of time that I could ever have anticipated.

IRL, my job situation is going to change again, I’ve accepted a new position, and although it’s a pay cut, the peace of mind and sanity that will come with it will be worth it. And I will still have a hearty enough income with money to spare.

Mostly, the family member closest to me has recently been diagnosed ill and will require treatment. I have been full of anxiety, insomnia, fear, and depression. Some days it’s been hard to do much at all. On the days I’ve motivated myself to write this latest entry, I found it helped to sort of balance out the other things, and take my mind off RL for a while.

But it’s to you my wonderful friends, fans and readers that I am indebted to. You have shown support, love, and encouragement in this little story that first dawned on me as I stood in my kitchen after completing BtVS for the first time. I cherish and appreciate the time you take to read it, and the comments I receive. I love you all.

This story WILL have a Part 2 after the natural conclusion. As I have been writing this one, part 2 has been manifesting and speaking to me. When the time draws close, I will announce it.

To whomever nominated me as an "author of the month" I was humbled, flattered and surprised beyond belief. Thank you for thinking me worthy. As if the date of this posting, I have not heard EF's decision on the nomination. Never the less.....THANK YOU. ❤️ðŸ¤�”

I will do the best possible to update more often than the large gaps of time as of late. Writing, editing, correcting and moving around passages where they’ll fit better. I don’t want to post something until I am sure of it.

Friends: I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. No, just kidding, I am all in with the good lately I swear.

The past few months have been a downright torment at times. I’ve switched jobs so that aspect of my life has become easier, but it’s the only thing.

My family member (mother) is undergoing treatment. She had a round of general chemo back in November, and was able to go on targeted Chemo after the testing came back. There’s been a lot of side effects, and a lot of dark times. I’ve felt like the rug pulled out from under me and flipped me upside down.

Finding time to write this story has been scarce, but therapeutic when I could. I apologize for the immense delay, and hope you don’t have to read too far back to recap. If you're still here, I am profoundly thankful you are reading and hopefully enjoying.
