Summary: A response to a challenge by Mia Vaan. Born into a family of Watchers, William Pratt manages to earn the Council's trust and respect shortly after he graduates from the Academy. But everything changes the night he meets a mysterious woman in black, finding himself torn between a lust for blood and what remains of his humanity. Over the years, he reinvents himself, but goes on to lead a rather solitary existence until a run-in with an old friend alerts him to a slayer in Sunnydale who could use his help.
