Summary: LA has been saved, Angel Shanshu'd and Spike sacrificed yet again.  Buffy and Dawn celebrate Independence Day and consider the future while remembering the past.  Can there be a future worth embracing even at this late date?
 
My muse paid a short visit for the first time in a couple of years.  Hoping this is just the start.  Posting unbeta'd.  For the purposes of this story forget any comic canon.
