Elysian Fields vs. Email Domains

As many of you know, emails/alerts from Elysian Fields stopped being reliably received by users with registered AOL or Yahoo! email addresses a couple of years ago. Over that time, we have advised anyone with an AOL or Yahoo! email address to switch to Gmail or another alternative to maintain access to the notifications they have opted to receive, including the password reset requests that are required upon registration. Unfortunately, many new users continued to register with AOL or Yahoo! addresses, which led to frustration on their end when they couldn't access their accounts, and frustration on the Mods' end as we tracked down and eliminated duplicate accounts and issued manual password resets.

Well, we decided to take drastic action. As of today, no one may register using an AOL or a Yahoo! email address. If you currently have an AOL or Yahoo! email address associated with your account, we strongly advise that you change this as soon as possible. While we have no reason to believe this will disrupt the login process for existing members with one of the aforementioned email addresses on file, we encourage you to email us at ssolace@gmail.com if you have trouble accessing your account. In no circumstance should a new account be created without the prior approval and express permission of the Mod team. We can always recover an account to which you've lost access for one reason or another.

As always, please feel free to reach out to anyone on the Mod team if you have any questions.

Thanks!

I just check everything manually onsite. My e-mail addresses are SBC (Yahoo AT&T) and AOL, aside from my school addresses.
