What if Dawn was Donnie?  As in a boy instead of girl.  How would interactions change?  How would he behave.  A great deal less whiney I would expect.  Perhaps more aggressive, wanting to be the man of the house after Joyce died.  What if he desperately craved a male role model and found it in Spike?

I think this would make a most interesting rewrite of s6.
