Summary: At age 38, Joyce Summers is the oldest slayer ever when she clinically dies from cardiac arrest after being electrocuted by a lightning demon. Despite revival through the miracle of modern medicine, the slayer line moves on.
At age 15, Buffy Summers has spent her childhood researching demons, learning self defense, and occasionally getting kidnapped. When on the way home from school, some random old British guy tells her that she’s the slayer, she is utterly bewildered. Isn’t that her mom’s job?

Summary:
Joyce is the oldest known Slayer, ever in Council history. She has Buffy. Joyce's marriage fell apart because of her Calling and Hank's adultery. Joyce and Buffy move to Sunnydale after the divorce.
Buffy has been trained since she could walk to fight against vampires and other supernatural creatures, by Joyce and Merrick. Surprisingly, she's a well rounded young woman. Straight A student and closet nerd. She loved being a cheerleader and wearing the latest trendy clothes, but accepts there's a time to move on and grow-up. Buffy doesn't need other people's approval she doesn't let Xander and Willow manipulate or pressure her into doing what they think she should do.
Buffy, mostly gets along with Cordelia because they're straight talkers and respect each other for their honest thoughts and opinions.
Merrick is Joyce's Watcher. He has no delusion he can control Joyce and Buffy. He's more like a favorite uncle to them.
Joyce dies for a few moments before Merrick and Buffy save her with CPR. Buffy is Called.
Joyce and Buffy are the only mother-daughter team in Watcher history.
The Council tries to pressure them apart and sends Giles to be Buffy's Watcher.
Merrick gets to laugh at Giles, attempts to take Buffy to the Cleveland, Ohio Hellmouth.
Joyce and Buffy keep Angel at arm's length. Even though Angel has a soul, Joyce makes it clear to him, touch her daughter. She'll dust him.
Angel mopes because he can't get close to Buffy.
Spike and Dru come to Sunnydale, after Prague, to search for Angel and cure her.
What happens after that is up to you.
