Summary:
During the episode "Normal Again" the demon with hallucinogenic venom stabs Spike instead of Buffy.
Spike wakes up as William in his bedroom of his old home in London and his mother is next to him. Anne explains to him that after Cecily refused him, he went into a catatonic state.
The few times William woke up, he was delirious and believed to be a vampire named Spike and he told about Drusilla, Slayers, vampires, demons, and Hellmouth. But until now he had been in a state of confusion, he wasn't fully conscious.
Anne has prevented him to go in an asylum thanks to her trusted doctor, who has taken care of both her and him - she has the consumption but she wasn't yet a terminal patient.
Spike is terribly confused and, just like Buffy, he keeps going back and forth between the two realities and he doesn't know what is real.
