Beta experience: I don't have any formal beta experience, but would love to participate!
Story types/topics I will not beta: -incest
-not big on babyfic or all human, but I could certainly be convinced if the story is intriguing
Additional Comments: I work in healthcare/clinical research and am I published author. Professional writing has been a huge part of my life and I'm a better editor than writer. I'm an etymology nerd, and take grammar, word choice, spelling, and punctuation very seriously (my username is intentionally spelled weird - long story).  I hate being taken out of a story by a misused or misspelled word in an otherwise great story, which is why I want to be a beta!
Fan of the Oxford comma.
I have detailed knowledge of BTVS, have watched all of Angel, and read seasons 8-9 of the comics. I'm a voracious reader and love a variety of stories - rated G to super smutty. I started reading Spuffy fic in Dec 2022 after binging the series starting in Sep 2022, and have literally read tens of millions of words worth of stories since then!

Beta experience: I've never beta-ed before but would really like to give this a shot. I work as an advertising writer IRL and have been doing this for 16 years. I'm adept at editing and would be happy to help if you want someone to bounce plot ideas with. I'm also a history buff and am available to help you with research should you need it.

Additional Comments: I'm new to fanfiction and fandom in general although I've been madly in love with Spike for about 20 years.

Beta experience: Wonderfully Weird by Jws1993
Girls Invented Punk Rock, Not England by Dynamite
I have several years of experience in non-fiction editorial roles so I am great with mechanics like grammar/spelling/word choice/sentence flow, etc.
Story types/topics I will not beta: Not big into stories dealing with really dark or heavy angst (I’m a sap; love me a happy ending), also don’t love super graphic non-con but am willing to work with a story where there may be smaller elements of non/dub con. Not super into baby fics or all human.
Additional Comments: I love chatting about Buffyverse meta and vamp/slayer lore, so I’m happy to help work through bigger ideas! I can also help non-American authors with Americanizing language or cultural/social details.

Story types/topics I will not beta: Slash and PWP.
Additional Comments: Good grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.  Decent knowledge of canon.  Currently reading the comics.

Beta experience: I’ve alpha- and beta-read for several writer friends and their original works over past 10ish the years. I have also beta'ed a couple times for EF writers and it's been a joy.
Story types/topics I will not beta: I’m generally open to anything, though not a big fan of all human stories. But overall, I pick stories for the tone, themes, characterization and plot, so I wouldn’t categorically say no any topic. If the concept excites me, I’m in. I might bow out if I realize I'm not the right person for your story.
Additional Comments: + I have proofread tons of academic essays so I’m a bit of a grammar/punctuation/spelling enthusiast.
+ My day job is in social work with children so any questions about raising kids and/or the psychology of children can probably be answered relatively confidently by me.
+ I live in Western Europe so might be able to provide insight into European settings.
+ I love learning about history (especially European and American history), neurodiversity and musical theater. These look weird stuck together but I know a bunch about all three if that should ever, for whatever reason, become relevant.

Beta experience:  I have done some beta reading in my college creative writing class and given extensive feedback I am also currently beta reading for the first book in a paranormal romance novel series which is due to be self-published at a later date. I also often give feedback in some writing discords.  write

Beta experience: I mostly help friends and family. I can't even remember the names of their stories! I'm so bad at names. But I beta my own stories so that's a clues as to how I work.
Story types/topics I will not beta: I'm pretty open to anything. That doesn't mean I'll accept everything, but I won't shoot stories down based on categories or taboo content.
Additional Comments: I'm extremely friendly, and well versed in the Buffy T.V. series. I don't know much about the comics though. I'll work with you and if you don't like something I do I'll redo it. I do want to warn you that I tend to rework the chapters so they flow better. I delete what I feel is awkward. I also care about characters being well written, so I may tweak dialogue. I don't just fix grammar unless that's what is called for. I'm like a mechanic. I'll give your jaguar a tune up, but I'll also fix the brakes and engine and replace the tires. I want your car to run as smooth as possible and live up to its potential.

Beta experience: I do not yet have beta experience, but I am very willing to help.
Story types/topics I will not beta:
Additional Comments: While I do not yet have beta experience, I am a very skilled writer with great knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and structure. I frequently proofread and review papers for my brother's and my friends' college courses. I excelled on the writing section of the SAT, scoring a 780 out of 800, supporting my understanding of the written word.
I have read countless Spuffy stories and am familiar with numerous authors and works, so I can provide input to help prevent any unintentional plagiarism and to develop unique plot devices.
I have watched BTVS and ATS numerous times, and I own most of the comics. Thus, I have a strong and vast knowledge of canonical and character elements within the Buffy-verse, and I can provide feedback on canon-compliance and characterization.
I'm super willing to help out or chat with anyone who might be interested!
