Spam reviews

Quite a few authors here at Elysian Fields have been receiving spam reviews, the content of which is not pleasant. The problem is that the only way to stop/block these reviews is to turn off anonymous reviews. This won't stop anyone from reviewing a story, it would just mean that every reader would have to have an account and be logged in while reading to leave feedback.

Before a decision is made we'd like to open the issue up for discussion. The essential question is, would turning off anonymous reviews bother/effect you? If so - how/why.

I think you need to do what has to be done.  I love this site and if spam effects our wonderful writers, then do away with the anon reviews...cause personally..if you are gonna say something..have the guts to stand by your opinions.

I always leave my name but I am usually positive in what I try to say.  I say do away with anonymous reviews.  If I forget to log in, then I still leave my name at the end.

How's that?

I'd say do away with the anon reviews, if people are genuine they'll join up and leave reviews :o)

Because Elysian Fields has no clause in their sign-up rules stating that members must submit fanfic, unlike some other archive sites out there, I don't find it unreasonable at all to require that reviewers post under some sort of identification.
