  • I'm a middle aged mom of a proto teen who reminds me so much of Dawn sometimes that it's ridiculous.
  • I have a weird phobia of The Statue of Liberty, and any other extremely oversized humanoid shaped statue. Aside from the normal fears of loved ones dying and IRS Auditors it's the only real fear I have so I try to own it.
  • I have been an extremely proud card carrying scifi/fantasy/comicbook/RPG/gamer/history geek since I read my first comic book at the age of 5.
  • I love every character on both shows. Even Hank. I find it impossible to hate on Almonzo Wilder, who I fell totally in love with when he first showed up in Walnut Grove to woo Laura Ingalls.  I just know there had to be a valid reason he never showed up back in Buffy and Dawn's life after Joyce died. Maybe he was totally eaten by a grue. Not Groo, who is a complete sweety and would never eat a devilishly attractive father of two (although if he did I could imagine some epic slash fic coming out of it) but grue the sinister lurking presences in the dark places of the earth who have never been seen in the light of day. They're real! Look 'em up! Have I mentioned I'm a total nerd?
  • Because I love every character I try hard not to bash but I also try hard not to gloss over their petty idiosncracies, as well. I mean really, whenever Spike and Angel get together they totally turn into  5 year olds. Is it wrong that I kinda find that sexy? It is? Let's pretend I never said that, then.
  • I have a thing for geeky boys and under dogs. My husband is just as nerdy as I am, although when I met him he totally looked like the love child of Adrian Paul and Andy Garcia (RAWR!). And I will forever choose the side of the under dog in any confrontation. It's a compulsion. It's also probably why I MUCH prefer Spike over Angel, Damon over Stefan, Eric over Bill, et cetera, ad infinitum.
  • I've been reading fanfic since I started watching the show. My first complete episode was Becoming II (we will not speak about The Puppet Show. I spit on The Puppet Show. PTEW!) and I had an entire summer to try to catch up in the age of VHS, when Buffy wasn't even a blip on the home video radar and internet episodes were still something out of Star Trek. Thankfully, it was during a time when summer meant reruns of the Fall season so I could catch up on season 2, but I had to turn to the web to figure out what had happened before that and my searches turned up fanfic. I was already a Spuffy (I mean who can watch Becoming II and NOT be?!?) so I had to search a little harder but there was an underground movement and it was AWESOME.
  • I hate the words "soulmate" and "unlife" and firmly believe that true friends don't let friends write songfic.
  • But in all those years of reading almost everything there is out there in the Spuffy universe there were still plot lines I wanted to see explored so I figured I would have to take to writing them myself if I wanted it done. Unfortunately, life hit and my daughter was diagnosed as being on the Spectrum, which took up a LOT of my attention for a while so, that, insecurity, the effect of the economy on my home business, and the fact that I wrote myself into a dead end on my MAIN story caused me to drop out of writing for a while. She's older now (ironically the age I was when I fell in love with Dean Butler's Almonzo) and the rest worked itself out (mostly) so some of my time has freed up and I want to finish what I started.
  • I used the word "ironically" correctly. Right? Right? Damn.

Summary: Update as of 26 February 2015: This story is still being worked on. Health problems and family difficulties have given my muse a cramp, but she is stretching and exercising and working the hitch out and I hope to update in the relatively near future. It has not been abandonded and will never be a PWIP. If it takes me a decade I will finish this story. (and it may since I first posted Chapter 1 in 2006)
Response to Skybound's Bloodshedverse Challenge #101. Instead of Spike just shrugging his shoulders and leaving Angelus to kill Buffy he hesitates and decides to lend a hand. Some dialogue taken from Becoming II. AU from Becoming II. Almost the entire story is told through Buffy and Spike's inner monologue. Revamped from my WIP posted at TSR in 2006. Changes will become more readily apparent in later chapters as I get rid of the elements that I felt wrote me into a corner back in the day. Posting will be intermittent for a short while due to a family obligation, but I'm aiming for @ 2 times a week now that I've reached the point that I'm no longer revamping old material.

Summary: Short little one-shot written in 2006 for the Seasonal_Spuffy LiveJournal Community for the Fairy Tale Challenge. It's probably pretty obvious which fairy tale I picked... episode rewrite of Out of My Mind with other episode elements thrown in for flavor.

Summary: He'd heard of sires but never had one himself. He'd met other vampires throughout his long life but they never did seem to get along. It seems he was destined to be as alone in death as he was in life. That would make anyone a monster, wouldn't it?

Exist long enough and everything gets boring, doesn't it? Death wouldn't have been worth dying if it hadn't been for the slayers.
