This was all simply gorgeous. I loved the realistic way you wrote everyone's paths to growing up and older, with lots of humor to make it through bleak grey areas. Definitely heard the character's voices in the dialogue, especially Andrew.

Brava!!! Wonderful story! That was a rough psychological journey for Spike. I feel like you really expressed PTSD well here.
Also, love this line: “The only reason you need to have sex is, I wanted to.” So satisfying to hear Buffy say that. That whole huge bunch of baggage is honestly one of the neatest things about this fandom or ship or whatever. I'm so glad good writers like you like to write about it 😄

I lived with people with pretty severe PTSD, with differing and varied symptoms, but I ended up internalizing a lot of the symptomatology for later use in story. It's helpful.
I'm big on clearing up sexual hang-ups. I'm so glad you appreciate it!
Summary: When Buffy rents the house of her favorite celebrity to share a weekend getaway with her sister, she's surprised to find the previous tenant hasn't completely vacated it. As much as she enjoyed the tequila, the view, and the hot tub, it's him she can't seem to get out of her head. The end of a long-term relationship and the premier of a new TV show have Spike turning over a new leaf and uncovering a new look. He's sworn off cigarettes and young women but a chance encounter with a determined miracle seeker reminds him that happiness is about more than cutting unhealthy things out of your life; it's about having the bravery to let good things in. OK, slightly confused. I'm guessing this review goes with the next chapter because he made out like a bandit in this one. lol. Yeah...not sure why Buffy can't just accept him and his offer as legit, but it looks like she needs a minute. She's already thought all about marriage so what's the hold up? Still shadows of Liam and her liking things all done up properly with t's crossed and i's dotted.
Thanks for letting me know you're enjoying the story. I'm impatient and live for fast updates no matter which side of a story I'm on, reader or writer.

The direction this went in this chapter made me think of something I read a million years ago that really made an impression on me. When I looked it up just now, was amazed to see the Sime/Gen universe all up in the internet! Anyway, it's sci fi with a vampiric element. I like the evolution from predator/prey to sharing and protecting.

Summary: After a Slayer is killed under unusual circumstances the Watchers' Council sends Watcher in training Buffy Summers to investigate. When she learns the subject of her thesis is active in the area she stays on hoping to interview the infamous Slayer of Slayers. The Spike she meets is nothing like William the Bloody of book fame. Disgusted by the quality of her training, he takes it upon himself to introduce her to the real world of vampires and Slayers.
