Great chapter! I can really feel Spike's pain, but I also think you've done a great job with explaining Buffy's point of view - in this relationship it's always harder to understand Buffy's actions than Spike's and I find that I can sympathise with Buffy at least to some extent here.

I don't know if you're active here anymore, but I really liked this chapter. I'm a sucker for "first meeting" stories and this one's so sweet with quiet and cool Spike. The intro before the flashback was intriguing also, and I like the inclusion of Dawn as well. I also find your writing very pleasant and I think you're true to the characters. And finally I look forward to a bromance between Xander and Spike :)

I'd never heard of Torchwood before but saw s02e01 and God, was James amazing or what! Couldn't quite decide if I liked smart-ass Jack or not, but he's entertaining alright.
I'm also hating on Angel soo much, which is funny because I never did in the series, but fan fiction has made my see the light.

Great chapter and glad you're back!
I don't know if it's just me, but Spike's outburst in the beginning felt like a nod at Vampire Spike - with the strength and temper and the ridges in his brow. Or maybe it's the other way around, the vampire thing is analogy for real life..? Never thought about it before.
I'm really fond of Henry, such a cliffhanger in the end though - will Buffy tell him all or at least that they're involved? And sightseeing with the Pratts and the Summers seems like a turbulent Saturday.
Love this story, there's something so attractive with bossy and superior Spike, I'd love to see more office smut! Looking forward to next update!

Thank you so much love! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And it's funny you mention that bit about being a nod to vampire Spike, because in a way, it is. Part of Spike's character (not William, but Spike) is his temper...and I didn't want to leave it out of this fic just because it's an AH. I love all of his qualities, good and bad, and his callousness and incredible ability to love and also to wound are factors that I play with in this fic because I love them. So thank you for noticing!
Can I tell you a secret? henry's my favorite character in this fic. Maybe because he's purely mine, or maybe because he reminds me of my dad...I don't know. But I'm so happy others are as fond of him as I am!

Wow, and just when I was thinking that in this version there'll be no Angelus. Poor Dru and poor Buffy... I hope Dru at last will escape from Angelus' thrall and help to fight him. Damn you for doing a Joss and going from really happy moment to pain! Please post soon :)

I wish I could take off work and just write! More as soon as my schedule lets me :-) At least Dalton is still alive!

Well, so far everyone seems to take it quite well... But there's also Joyce who needs convincing.
This is my favourite story at the moment, every chapter is so suspenseful and it's hard to say where it'll all end up. Looking forward to next chapter!

I'm very happy you like my bit of craziness :-) I try to never be too gloomy- but with Angel, The Judge, and Acathla breathing down everyone's necks it's going to be a problem! Thankfully Spike wants to make sure Buffy will never forget Valentine's Day ;-)

I must say, Joyce took it pretty well! I guess Dalton and her will get along, and I really hope the spell will be ready before Angelus finds out...
