I was happy to re read this edit. I remember reading this way back. Really liked the concept that Buffy thought him being there was a dream. Thanks for posting!
Summary: She'd kicked his butt, taken the Gem and sent it off to Angel. Buffy thought she'd seen the last of Spike. Clearly, she’d been too optimistic. That he was in her house, in her room, waking her out of a sound sleep and asking for (okay, demanding) her help meant that something had to be majorly wrong. They weren't due for another apocalypse, but...why else would a vampire make a truce with the Slayer?

Summary: Update as of 26 February 2015: This story is still being worked on. Health problems and family difficulties have given my muse a cramp, but she is stretching and exercising and working the hitch out and I hope to update in the relatively near future. It has not been abandonded and will never be a PWIP. If it takes me a decade I will finish this story. (and it may since I first posted Chapter 1 in 2006)
Response to Skybound's Bloodshedverse Challenge #101. Instead of Spike just shrugging his shoulders and leaving Angelus to kill Buffy he hesitates and decides to lend a hand. Some dialogue taken from Becoming II. AU from Becoming II. Almost the entire story is told through Buffy and Spike's inner monologue. Revamped from my WIP posted at TSR in 2006. Changes will become more readily apparent in later chapters as I get rid of the elements that I felt wrote me into a corner back in the day. Posting will be intermittent for a short while due to a family obligation, but I'm aiming for @ 2 times a week now that I've reached the point that I'm no longer revamping old material.

Thank you. I love comic fic too, everyone's so down on the comics but there's a lot of things I love about them. Plus they've spawned bug ship fic.
Summary: Insert fake sister A into memory slot B. When the monks form Dawn, the PTB take a helping hand in the creation of the fake memories. How does the interactions with Dawn in the past change Buffy and Spike's relationship in the present and ultimately the future? Begins in S5 but quickly downturns to S2.
