Summary: This story, told in drabbles, is written for the 2023 Elysian Fields Drabblemania and is part of my Spike and the Scoobies series.
The story is set in an AU Season 4, where Spike has helped take down the Initiative, supported Buffy when Faith took over her body, and was around for the early arrival of Dawn. He and Buffy have just returned from a road trip to deal with a rogue demon prince and are officially together.

Story Notes: This set of 25 drabbles is based on Board 3 of the 2023 EF Drabblemania event. I will list each prompt in the chapter notes. This story can be read without reading the prior stories in this series and deals primarily with Buffy and Spike’s dating life, though I’ve included a brief summary below for those interested. The timeframe of this story is April to September of 2000.

What happened in the previous stories

Giles, Buffy, and Spike know Dawn is the Key and Spike and Buffy know they are Dawn’s metaphysical parents. When Faith kidnapped Dawn, Spike stopped at nothing to get her back, almost killing Faith. Buffy forgave him and told him she believes in him. On a recent road trip to defeat a demon lord, they almost lost each other and realized they are in love.
