Story Notes: I got the idea for this story from a line in one of my SAD March Drabble Challenge chapters (Belonging, I'll be posting it on EF soon). The line was Buffy thinking about Spike:
Ok, so he saved her friends from that demon. The idiot gets another pass. But this is the absolute last time.
Really.
It sparked a lot of conversations about how Buffy and Spike never could kill each other, despite having lots of opportunities. I decided I wanted to explore this in a fun, fluffy way, so here we go!
I’d also branched out and tried writing in first person for the first time with that drabble series. I loved the style and the feelings it evoked so much that I then wrote a whole story in first person (Saved). I wanted to keep dabbling in different points of view and decided to write this story in third person omniscient. I’ve never done this style before and I hope you think it works for this story.
So many thanks to my phenomenal beta, Doublemeat Palace. She beta'd so many stories for me in March and I'm (hopefully) going to be sending her lots more in April. She's such a rock star!
