Story Notes: Alright, here we go again. I know! Darn muse won't let me rest. I'm sorry. I really couldn't wait to write this story. I promise I'll finish one. I hope this is good. None of it belongs to me and some of the dialogue is from the game this story crosses over with, that is, The Legend of Zelda and the Ocarina of Time. None of that is mine, nothing but my crazy ideas. Respective dialogues and characters all belong to their creators. LoZ characters and dialogue belong to Nintendo and its creator, and Buffy and those characters from the show belongs to their creators. I'm just borrowing it all to make it fit, whether it does or not. I make no money, it's just for fun.
Chapter Notes:

Here's the start! I'm working on this alone, again. So constructive criticism only! And nothing about continuing my other works. I know, I will finish those too. Eventually...

Hyperion had been filled with Slayers, everywhere. Everyone had been getting rested and healed up after the big fight. They had won, but there were so many losses. Buffy sat alone in her room, thinking of everything that was lost. That's all she ever did now, and a week had passed. She hears a knock on the door and then it opens without waiting for her response. She looks up at the one who entered seeing Angel.

"Buffy, you shouldn't stay in here like this, all alone. It's been a week since Sunnydale fell. People are starting to leave, Slayers have gone and Giles has gone, he went to London to start setting up the new Watchers Council. You can't stay here. I know it's hard but you need to move on eventually. I know it's only been a week so we can't expect you to have moved on already. But nothing will change if you just sit here. Go to London with Giles, Willow has left with Kennedy. I don't know where Xander went, but even he has gone."

Angel speaks, but Buffy just looks at him blankly. She knew they had gone, they said goodbye at least and that they'd be waiting. She knew Angel wanted her to go, she couldn't care.

"Fine, I'll pack up and leave, I won't be in the way anymore."

She replies. Angel grimaces and looks away.

"You know that's not what I meant. I just can't keep coming back here to check on you, I've got a law firm to run. You don't eat, you stay in here all day, and you need help. Dawn left too, and she's worried that you haven't gone to London to be with her yet."

He says. She nods, and gets up, starting to get everything she had gotten the chance to bring, not much of it anyway. She has Spike's zippo, and she stares at it. Angel notices and frowns.

"He's not coming back you know, it's great what he did, but he's gone."

Angel tells her, glad that the pain in his side is gone. Buffy glares at him and stuffs the lighter in her pocket.

"You think I don't know that? I'm getting out of your hair, so just leave me alone, Angel."

She says, and Angel looks hurt, but leaves. She sighs and also gets ready to go. Heading off to London.

She was tired, but she couldn't give up. Spike wouldn't want that, he died to save the world, a world so that she could live in it. Just like she had, but she hadn't asked for that. Stupid vampire. He didn't even believe her, not that she could blame him. Every night she patrolled, plenty of vampires in London, and she laughed, though it wasn't filled with much humor as it could be. She thought of Spike, remembering when they had watched An American Werewolf in London with Dawn. Heck, she was an American Slayer in London. She shakes her head and kept going, not watching when all of the sudden she got hit in the head, falling down and her stake flying out of her hand. She tried reaching for it as she looked up at what hit her. Some kind of demon, though it kind of looked human.

"Slayer, I think it's time for you to say goodbye to this world."

It growled, and held out a hand when suddenly she was blinded, but everything then went black.

She didn't know what was happening. There was rain, and she felt small and young. Like a child, but still with Slayer strength. All she remembered was that demon that hit her, and the blinding light. Speaking of blinding lights, lightning had flashed across her vision. She also noticed a strange light with wings, a firefly? No, it was too big for that. She could also see a shape in the light, it looked humanoid. She tried to speak, but she couldn't. Also, what the heck was she wearing? It looked like a dress, except it had a belt buckled around her waist, it was green and she had on brown boots, as well as some strange matching hat. Honestly she looked like something from a medieval fair or whatever those things were called. Reconnaissance? No, that didn't seem right. Or at least some fantasy wizard convention. All of the sudden she heard the sound of metal, something being controlled by chains and a horse. She gets confused and turns around, seeing an old woman riding on the back of a white horse. She didn't look familiar, but on the back of the horse riding with her was a boy, he was wearing beautiful white clothes, he looked like a prince. He had sandy curls and the most familiar looking blue eyes. It couldn't be though. Their eyes met and she saw recognition flash across the boys face, but he'd vanished and there was another sound of a horse. She turns back toward the gate, that's what it was, a gate with a drawbridge. The drawbridge had been let down to let the horses and their passengers out of what looked like a town, not that she could get a good look pass the big bulking horse and the man atop it. She looked up at him and gasped. The man looked like Angelus, if Angelus had dark greenish skin, red hair, and yellow eyes like his vamp face, but he wasn't in vamp face. It was like he was jaundiced, a funny thought if she wasn't so confused. The man, or was it Angelus, lifted his hand like he was about to do something, but all Buffy could do was stare. Then there was nothing.

Chapter 1
Chapter Notes:

Here's the first chapter! Hooray~! Once again, dialogue and characters from LoZ belong to Nintendo and its creators, and those from BtVS belong to its creators. Enjoy!

"Dawnie... Dawnie, where art thou? Come hither..."

Dawnie the fairy flew to the Merrick Tree.

"You called, Merrick Tree?"

Dawnie the fairy asked.

"Oh, Dawnie the fairy... Listen to my words, the words of the Merrick Tree..."

Dawnie nods, listening.

"Dost thou sense it? The climate of evil descending upon this realm... Malevolent forces even now are mustering to attack our land of Hyrule... For so long, the Kokiri Forest, the source of life, has stood as a barrier, deterring outsiders and maintaining the order of the world... But...before this tremendous evil, even my power is as nothing... It seems the time has come for the girl without a fairy to begin her journey... The youth whose destiny it is to lead Hyrule to the path of justice and truth... Dawnie...go now! Find our young friend and guide her to me... I do not have much time left. Fly, Dawnie, fly! The fate of the forest, nay, the world, depends upon thee!"

The Merrick Tree speaks and Dawnie flies off. She flies through the forest and past the houses where all the children, at least they looked like children, lived. But they were the people of the forest, the Kokiri. She flies and runs into a mesh fence, shaking herself, before going through one of the holes in the fence and continuing into a tree house where she knows Buffy lives. She flies inside, finding the young girl in green sleeping on a wooden bed with a blanket covering it. She looked to be having a nightmare. That wouldn't stop Dawnie the fairy though!

"Hello, Buffy! Wake up! The Great Merrick Tree wants to talk to you! Buffy, get up!"

Buffy groans and rolls over, hearing a very annoying voice. Dawnie gets angry and starts flying up and down.

"Hey! C'mon! Can Hyrule's destiny really depend on such a lazy girl?"

Dawnie says indignantly. Buffy sighs and sits up.

"What do you want Dawnie? What's all this talk about destiny? What the hell is a high rule? Also, what's with this bed?"

She scoots to the edge, looking down, realizing that the dream she had was not really a dream. It was a nightmare and it was real! She's a child, a little girl.

"What the hell happened?! Dawn!"

She looks up and is shocked to see her sister surrounded by a bright light with wings and in a very small form. She's a fairy! That's what she saw in her nightmare, it must have been Dawn. Dawnie the fairy seemed to ignore what Buffy said as she introduced herself.

"You finally woke up! I'm Dawnie the fairy! The Great Merrick Tree asked me to be your partner from now on! Nice to meet you!"

The fairy that called itself and even looked like Dawn said. Buffy felt faint, but she wouldn't pass out, nope. She couldn't believe this, it was real. Right? She pinches herself, hard.

She says, and yep it's real. But, wait, did this Dawn say the great Merrick tree? Merrick? But he's dead. Her eyes filled with tears as she remembered her first watcher. She shakes her head, this couldn't be real. Except that it was. So, Merrick was still alive...and he's a tree? God this was so crazy. But then, when was her life ever not. Also, if this wasn't a dream, then that boy in her nightmare...could it be? Could she hope? But he's a little boy, and she's a little girl! She shuddered, nope, not going there. What was she going to do?

"The Great Merrick Tree has summoned you! So let's get going...right now!"

Dawnie the fairy says, not noticing the girls distress. Buffy decides she might as well go with this fairy version of her sister. Not that Dawn was much of a sister these days...whatever. It's not like she had a choice if she wanted to find out what the hell was going on. So she just nods, and gets up off the bed. She looks around where she's at and frowns, a tree house? It was furnished, besides the bed there was also two tables, one by itself in the center and one off to the side with some food on it and two chairs. Along with hay and farm equipment by the door. The opening in the tree only had a sheet that was pulled to the side that seemed to act like a door. She also noticed what looked like a sink. So weird. This place seemed so old fashion, yet there was running water? Alright, enough thinking, it made her brain hurt. Time to go. She goes out the door with Dawn following her. She's surprised to see green, so much green, just like her strange outfit. It's a forest, and lots of houses made out of trees, just like her own it would seem. Heh, wood. She notices a boy running up to her house and is surprised to see it's Xander, and there's a small fairy following him, though it doesn't look like anyone she knows. Also, what was with his hair? Xander has green hair, and pointy ears. Buffy touches her own ears, remembering that lots of people, even Dawn seemed to have them. She remembered the boy and the woman from her nightmare did too. Well, except for Angelus, or the man who looked a bit like him. Were they elves? Faeries? Just what was with this place? She sighs, deciding not to worry about it. The green haired Xander was also wearing the same outfit as hers, except without the hat.

"Yahoo! Hi, Buffy!"

Xander said, waving up at her. She smiles, and waves back, seeing her old friend in this strange version of him. He also had both eyes, and he looked like a little boy. But he seemed older at the same time. She wonders how to get down off this tree house, and notices a ladder in front of her. She climbs down it and notices a sign by the ladder. She looks at it and it reads, 'Buffy's house'. Well, that was nice. She laughs a little and turns to the green haired Xander. The green haired Xander was looking at her and her fairy, she almost forgot about Dawnie the fairy. It looked like they didn't know each other in this world.

"Wow, a fairy! Finally, a fairy has come to you, Buffy!"

Buffy wondered what that meant. Did everyone have a fairy except her? Was she an outcast until now? Well, that's great.

"Wow! That's great news! I'm so happy for you!"

Xander continues, seeming genuinely happy for her and laughing with delight. She gets the feeling they must be best friends here too. Just without Willow, wonder where she was, strange.

"Now you're a true Kokiri, Buffy!"

A what now? Xander just kept going on. Dawnie piped up about needing to hurry to see the Great Merrick Tree.

"Is that right? The Great Merrick Tree has summoned you? It's quite an honor to talk to the Great Merrick Tree! I'll wait for you here. Get going! Go see the Great Merrick Tree!"

Xander said and Buffy looks frustrated. She didn't even get the chance to say anything, but Dawnie was pushing against her, trying to move her along. She sighs, knowing she wouldn't get anywhere standing about. She looks at Xander and waves again before heading off, not even knowing where to go from here.

"Hey, this way!"

God that voice was annoying, Dawnie the fairy was waving, trying to show Buffy the way. Buffy groans, rolling her eyes and follows.
