Story Notes: This is a direct sequel to Clocks of the Long Now, and it picks up soon after that story's epilogue.  While this new tale is very different, large portions of it probably won't make sense to someone who didn't already read the first fic.  Not that I'm trying to subtly imply that you read my other work.  But... ya know.  You could.  If you want.
