Story Notes: Setting: Season 5 mid-episode "Forever" going AU from there. Liberal changes made to the ritual Dawn uses for the resurrection spell. A/N and disclaimer: All characters and concept belong to Joss Whedon and ME, Fox, WB, UPN and other corporations affiliated with same. Thanks to Mr. Whedon's generous permission, I am using his creations in my original plot for no financial gain on my part. Bits of dialogue from transcripts of "Forever" written by Marti Noxon. The true "PTB" have given William the surname of Pratt. For the purposes of this story, I researched my little heart out on that surname and chose a prominent branch of Pratt's (adding my own fictional portion). Thus I offer my apologies to those actual family members who might not appreciate my little addition. Spike's immediate family (father and paternal grandmother in particular) are purely the construct of my imagination.
