If Buffy is a tease then so is this lil WIP. LOL. Off to a great start, would love to see it continued & see where it goes from there. Is Buffy not a slayer also in this? I know it’s been awhile but I’ll be waiting, hoping for an update someday if you ever get back into it[Report This]
Spuffy's dynamic here is so fascinating, with Buffy as far more prey than predator, but still standing up for her morals (and with a sixth sense that *knows* a predator when she sees one...). And Spike is already caught in her net Loving this![Report This]
I love how this all turned around on Spike. He was planning to have a quick bite of a pretty girl but he's found himself smitten enough to change what he wants from her.
I love the attraction between them and that it's mutual.
I have a feeling Sheila is history now.
Really hot kissing. I liked him backing her up with Pete and Larry.
Enjoying the story!
Things are different but Spike and Buffy are still very much as we are used to at their core. Spike is evil but he can be fascinated and Buffy do fascinate him. It was a very heated situation between them. I liked how Buffy could sort of feel the danger from him.
Now Sheila is in danger but maybe Spike will leave her alive (not sure why though) or Faith will turn up to save the day.[Report This]
Omg, omg, I really really don't want Sheila to die. She and Faith are so perfect, ugh, Faith will be devastated, oh no!
But Spuffy were amazing and hot and brilliant and all around awesome!!! :D
Thank you so so much for this chapter!!! It was glorious and I can't wait to read more!!! :D
Very intrigued by this switch and the window into a little bit more of poor, unfortunate Sheila's life before she bites it. I totally buy that she and Faith would be friends. Looking forward to seeing why Spike ends up seeing more in Buffy than a nummy treat![Report This]
Haven't read yet, just posting Webster's 1828 definition of hypocrite for you, which basically boils down to this: someone who pretends to be what they aren't, but his is more slanted towards this: someone who pretends to be right, whole, but isn't, particularly the witty comeback Jesus throws at the Pharisees about them being mausoleums, pretty and pristine on the outside, but filthy, grotesque, and dead on the inside. The Pharisees focused so much on how they appeared to others, that they never took care of their own spiritual growth; that's probably down to the Greek influence on Israel, though I'm certain the Pharisees would balk at the comparison (the Pharisees were an offshoot of the movement that overthrew their Greek Empire overlords). The Greeks were so obsessed with how their community viewed them, but cared not how things went on behind doors and this shows in their architectural achievements as well. The acropolis in Athens for example and the construction of the temple of Athena. There was a monument to the unknown god among other statues of gids at the acropolis, almost like they were afraid of how it would look if they didn't have one. The Athenian temple was built unevenly, but it looks straight because of optical illusion. Take careful notice that hypocrite is a noun. I like looking up words, especially when they end up not meaning what I thought they would. I was surprised by this one, although I wonder if hypocrite may come from the Greek name Hypocrites.
Hmmm... just read it and I can't tell if Buffy is a slayer or not, but I suppose that little bit of intrigue was intentional and I applaud you. Having Faith there early really spices up your plot.
It seems as though Buffy is friends with Cordelia as she originally intended. That makes me a little concerned for her, as she either rejected their friendly overtures or are dead or worse.[Report This]
Delighted to see you writing again!
You fell in love with her hemline. You certainly didn’t fall in love with her scintillating conversational skills. Have you even met a sixteen-year-old girl, much less spoken with one? Perfect perspective on Angel's "Love" there. Loved the whole intro in the notes.
Oh, this holds a lot of potential. Buffy is not the Slayer but Faith is and you Faith voice rings true.
I have a feeling Sheila is going to be lunch as she was in canon. I love her being Faiths bestie.
I like the vampire politics at the root of Spike's Slayer hunt. It's all about keeping Dru safe. You make the Annoying one and his group a bit more of a challenge than in canon and that's good. Spike will have to watch his back as well as his front.
Omg I never thought someone would respond to this challenge! I've always wanted to read a semi-canon fic where Buffy isn't the slayer and Spike is still his evil self. I'm a horrible writer so I proposed the challenge in hopes someone would take it :D
Amazing start!! I love the idea of Faith and Sheila being friends and Buffy not only a normal girl in this world, but also, one who is distanced from the supernatural world xxx[Report This]
OMG YES!!!! I never knew I needed Faith/Sheila friendship this bad unil this moment! It's perfect, so so perfect!!
And as much as I hate Bangel and all its grossness, Spike being upfront and honest does change things significantly for me, too, so I'm all in. I bet Buffy will have Spike whipped in no time! Ahah, I can easily see him getting the Gem of Amara just so he can carry Buffy's bags from the mall, lolololol. :D
Also Spike/Faith confrontation was 100% true to their characters and totally awesome!
This is a brilliant start of a brilliant story and I'm dying to read more!![Report This]
YAY Challenge story!! I'm so excited you decided to participate, tempestt, and your author's note just cracked me up.
Faith and Sheila as the main crew is SUCH a cool scene setting, and I love how you've shaped Sunnydale high with this set-up, a world where Buffy has no reason to not be still part of the in-crowd (and unhappy in it). Spike and Faith's first dance was SO much fun, too, with all of Spike's observations and getting to see how being the only One has shaped our Dark Slayer. Love this bunches! I'm super excited for more, and Spuffy's first official meeting![Report This]
Don't worry a bit of hypocrisy is good for the soul, I have heard😀Seriously though, I don't have any problem with the underage thing but It's good that you warn those who does.
I like this so far. It does make sense that Faith as the Slayer would have different kind of friends, Sheila do seem fitting for her.
Spike's voice looks perfect. He is evil at this time and that can be seen in his thoughts. I like the way he is reasoning and planning, it do make sense in that he wants to protect Dru. Spike is good at reading people and he knew perfectly well what to say in order to get an angry reaction out of Faith, he did notice her emotional weak point.
He didn't see much of Buffy, but he is already fascinated.[Report This]
