Funny, funny, funny. Spilled drinks, betting pools, awkward spike. Michael is a terrific OC. He's his own character, fits in seamlessly, doesn't come across as a plot device, seems like one thing then immediately we see other sides. And again, more mature, like FAith, than the run of the mill shallow bickering Scoobies. CAn I say how much I'm NOT missing any of them?
Buffy's still into playing games, making Spike working for any bit of info, keeping the upper hand. It seems she's still refusing to give much, or be vulnerable with Spike I get the feeling she's almost smirking at how cute she thinks she is, but it's not very appealing.[Report This]
The intro is awkward, as intended, capturing that uncertainty of reconnecting.
Your Faith is incredible. Wonderful backstory of how their friendship developed, and how Faith herself grew into herself and developed as a great person. She's really solid, a genuine friend for Buffy who doesn't seem to have a selfish agenda.
Buffy and Spiker seem to be heading towards a better place, by proceeding with caution.
Looking forward to Dawn's reconnection, and wondering if we'll see the Willow and XAnder. Giles at least made a peace offering with the tickets.
I really really liked this story. I think it’s my new favorite where spike and Buffy meet again after him coming back from the dead. I usually don’t like them because it seemed so out of character for spike not to tell her he was back.... and with all buffys insecurities I always have a hard time with her being able to forgive that. Even if she did forgive it would be hard to get passed I would think.
anyways this story was done just right and in a believable realistic way and I totally loved it. Thanks for writing :)[Report This]
I just re-read this cause I absolutely love it. This fic is so sweet and beautiful. I adore how spuffy is on the phone with each other. And that cute date with Faith! I even love them getting it on in the limo, it was a good idea to have them take the edge off! You did a great job with characterization and you wrote in a way that tugged every one of my heartstrings. I love this fic![Report This]
This smoulders very well, and the gradual build-up of the reunion over smileys - what a throwback term! - and texts to phone calls written in parallel to the date itself created an atmosphere of good frisson, which, of course, made the sex all the more exciting. Very nicely done, from the banter to Michael as exactly the sort of person I imagine Faith would finally date.[Report This]
I really liked this story! There are three things I liked especially. First, the hotness... man it was hot. Second, the dialogue between the 4 characters is very fun and witty. Then, I was a bit puzzled with the way Buffy and Spike interact, it just seems very different from their characterization in the show. But it was also, somehow, more realistic, like closer to what would be an actual relationship. For example the texting part, well, I must say that echoed a very realistic to me *ahem*. Well, those were some of my thoughts. Thank you very much bewildered for this story.[Report This]
She curled her fingers around the phone. “Yeah. Well.” She swallowed. “You’re not the only coward in this relationship.”
Looooooove this. Theyre both being so brave and vulnerable.
Don't know how I missed this story earlier in the year either but I'm super excited I get to enjoy it now.[Report This]
I love this story sooo much! The rhythm is just wonderful, there was not a boring moment! I love how these two different timeframes - the evening of the actual date and what led up to it - are interwoven (I'm not a native speaker, sorry, if it sounds a bit clumsy). It contains lots of my favourite elements, like the Scoobies showing some support for Buffys choices, Faiths and Buffys relationship, Spikes mishaps, flirty phonecalls between Spike and Buffy, them ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT THEIR RELATIONSHIP, them flirting while their friends are present, all the UST, Buffy owning her sexuality and not being ashamed anymore, both of them having their own lives and not depending too much on each other but freely chosing to make a relationship work - they've grown up! Oh, I love it! I can totally relate to them making notes for their conversations. Oh, and the sex was super hot! What a wonderfull story! If you ever feel like writing anything in that "universe" again, please do so! It's my new headcanon![Report This]
You manage to swing between serious and funny in such a way that it makes reading this a complete delight. I actually felt sorry for the poor glass as it shattered, and the betting pool idea was fun to follow. You did an awesome job on this.[Report This]
