I love Spike-as-an-actual-Master of Sunnydale moments!
And I enjoy Sandy's character voice.
This story is so interesting. The ripples of what a less insular social circle and more diverse/mature worldview would be a ton of sense in this context and I'm enjoying the trajectory you have the characters on.
I'm normally anti-Riley but now you have me intrigued as to how you'll have him develop.
Excited for the next update :-)[Report This]
In this situation, I can feel for Riley. It must be scary to get an unknown substance and noticing how big of an effect it has.
A lovely talk between Buffy, Willow and Anya. I loved Buffy's solution to the "ick problem".
I greatly enjoyed Sandy and now she is creating an army for Spike, a lot of people would want the Initiative destroyed.[Report This]
So is Riley starting to figure out that the Initiative isn't on the up and up? I mean sure the capture, torture and experimentation on sentient beings should have been a big red neon sign but he's always been a bit slow. Yeah the girl talk should probably be had somewhere the vampire isn't unless they want him to know what they say. LOL I don't think Spike is going to be very angry with Sandy.[Report This]
Walsh is uber creepy. You are a true testament to good breeding and a proper regimen. Hum...wonder if he's been genetically engineered from conception on? It's obvious they are drugged like on the show but this might imply they've been specially bred for their roles. The idea of that makes me feel some sympathy towards the big lug.
It's funny how the very young cannot handle thinking their elders (especially parent type figures) can be sexual. If they only knew! Not sure why they think it's icky. Then again sometimes it's the adults who weird out. I think I was 12 when I gave my mother a black lace nightgown for Mother's Day. She was mortified. I thought she'd look stunning in it. I have NO idea if it ever came out of the drawer LOL.
Not saying Rupert's name might work until they can finally handle the idea.
Oh I love Spike's army in the making! This will simple Buffy's life up and help Spike deal with the Initiative with greater ease. Love it!
The idea with 'breeding' came to me when I realized the two most prominent scientists in the Initiative had German surnames. Considering the parallels with the NASA projects stolen from the Nazis, then run by 'on the run' Nazis, I'm considering the Initiative as another such project. Sure, Finn isn't of German descent (or he is only partially, considering about 35% of the population in Iowa is of German descent, odds are there's enough Teutonic blood running through his veins to be considered 'superior.'
Glad you liked this, and thank you for the review.
I wonder what they've been dosing Riley with? Some kind of demon goop, but what kind? And what effect will it have apart from fast healing?
And now he's suitably suspicious of the Initiative...
Love the girly sex talk work-around so Buffy & Willow don't get grossed out by the thought of Giles and sex in the same sentence.
And looks as though Sandy will be a good asset for Spike...[Report This]
Aww, but Spike could totally use some ego-boosting overhead girl talk lol. I also loooove all the demons jumping in to join the Initiative fight. There's something so wholesome about demons coming together XD
Isn't it, though? Glad you're liking this.
Yeah!!!! Another amazing chapter!!! I’m loving this one so much!!! This end was perfect !!! Sandy is really growing on me!!! Pleaaaaaaase more much more!!
I'm glad you're so enthusiastic. Thank you very much
B) BTVS the show is now 22 years old, and that needs celebrating (and what better way than through more fanfic?)
You are so right - loving your story. Sorry I've not created your banner - finally will be getting it done tonight.
Thank you very much. That would be wonderful.
Great acceptance and solution but Buffy's No Kill - No Hurt - No Feed, that is going to be SUPER tricky and hard to live with.
Of course, but I'm thinking with time she'll learn to tryst Spike and his ability to decide what needs to be done. Also the 'no hurt' was nixed, considering the commandos are still on the 'dance card'
Like your adaptation Very Much - plus, kudos on Joyce's reality check on Willow's IWBD spell and the ethics/morals involved.
Thank you very much. Willow needs to be slapped upside the head for her lack of morals when it comes to magic.
Sandy managed to say the right thing to keep herself out of an ashtray.
we’ve been faced with human bad guys before. What matters isn’t what species they are, but what they do, Oh, the heart of it all! It is good vs evil and that is actions taken, not species. Some species are more likely to be evil and violent than others but it is what they do.
“You kill demons every night just because they look funny, though, don’t you?” No, she doesn't. She Slays those hunting human prey or starting apocalypses (or newly risen vampires filled with bloodlust). I love how she explains the difference to Xander! Perfectly put. I hope he pays attention to what she is saying. I'd bet more than one pizza deliveryman was a demon in Sunnydale since they are out at night and that's just one example. YAY for Anya's influence and for Buffy having listened to her.
Glad it isn't Oz but even happier that they are still planning a rescue.
Oh, Giles, not wanting Spike to have an invitation but all it took was Buffy announcing their relationship and he caved LOL.
I love Tara's POV here. Her reading of auras should have been used more than the one time on the show IMHO. If she gets the courage to talk to Anya her fears about being a demon will be eased.
Yes, to basically everything you pointed out in your review. Xander still has a long way to go, but he'll get there.
i loved this chapter, the walls are falling. Even for Giles. of course Veruca will probably need to die... she has no moral core. She is a sociopath with superpowers. Serial killers must be stopped! I so love Tara!!
Glad you liked it, and I hope you like what I do with them from now on.
Poor Sandy of course she didn't expect to see that. Spike is very fast to anger if he think that his relationship with Buffy is insulted. I liked how Buffy calmed him down.
Thinking that the captured werewolf was Oz did of course make everyone act as fast as possible. It was great to see that they wouldn't abandon an unknown werewolf. Seeing how demons are accepted will be good for Tara, that could lessen her worry.
I kinda felt that Spike's angry reaction would have triggered an unconscious opposite reaction from Buffy, and made her be more temperate in dealing with the minion. As I stated before, nobody deserves to be in Initiative captivity, not even the worst demons, and the Scoobies are starting to come around to that type of thinking.
Perfectly natural for Tara to be nervous, considering what her father has fed her all her life about being a demon...
Seeing demons being accepted, will hopefully encourage her to open up, and although Spike isn't shipped, as Willow said, they could do a spell to check...
In general, the Scoobies' opinion of demons is a lot more nuanced than it was on the show during the same time period. Tara should become more confident, and if she joins the truth Circle, she'll share her 'secret' with the rest a lot sooner.
