I was scared it was going to go all angsty at the beginning, but the way you turned it around rocked. Great writing. I couldn't have put down that chapter if I tried.
Thank you very much. I'm glad I was able to keep you glued to the page (screen). Thank you, it means a lot.
Xander has a point. Giles knows that they all simply barge in, which is good for Buffy if she needs to get to him quickly if she's injured or there's a dangerous demon about, but he is perfectly capable of locking the door if he specifically desires privacy.
Although saying that, when it's not an urgent demon or injury occasion, common decency should suggest you knock or ring the doorbell.
Always good to get the ground rules to a relationship set out clearly at the outset. Yay for Spuffiness!
Yes, they've really not cared much about Giles's privacy. True, when they relocated to the Magic Box that was understandable, but throughout season 4 they all just kinda... barge in.
Glad you liked the talk that led to the Spuffy.
Sike hat es Buffy erklärt....gut!!!!
Anya und Giles, ich liebe jeden Moment, wo die BEIDEN zusammen sind.
I'm glad you like it. Thank you very much for the review.
Of course it was worth it black! I'm glad to see this updated, as always.
Much luck to the footbones that need a severe talking to. How dare they :-)
Well, the bones are getting better, which is good, but that also means I have to go back to work, which I'm not very keen on at the moment. But, such is life.
One: We know he's not looking for someone else.
Two: She only has herself to blame if he did, but we know he won't
We know that, but her past experiences have been less than stellar.
of course it can't be easy! Ugh though, I hate how much Buffy always has to hurt. Interesting turn with this female vampire!
I hope you'll like where things are going.
Glad to see Harmony. Though I didn't love how she was portrayed on the show, I do have something of a soft spot for her and am always glad to see her in a fic. Really curious to see how's she going to get out of this one...or if she will at all
Harmony is definitely a wild-card, but she's in the thick of it now, so she'll need to do something.
Nooooooo!!! Make them talk!!!! I hate this misunderstandings!!! Pleaaaaaaase!!!! I need more!!! Still loving this but pleaaaaaaase make them talk!!!
They will talk, don't worry. Thank you for sticking by this.
Good to see that Spike can talk to Anya. They have many of the same references and understand each other. Spike is well aware that the Gem makes him a target and that it could harm those he cares about (no matter how much he would deny any caring). I liked how he reasoned about his choices and how Anya helped him. In order for him to live a life he actually would like he will need to be the Master of Sunnydale and collect people he can trust. The Initiative needs to be destroyed but even with this more open Buffy (thanks to Anya) it can be hard to sell the idea of harming humans.
Her situation is bad but I like what we can see of Harmony, she is showing some strenght in this situation.
The minion collection has started. Naturally we would have some classic romance story misunderstanding. Buffy saw him with Sandy, draw her own conclusions and will not talk to him. That can then turn to some actions from her that he will misunderstand. Only time will tell (well actually It's the writer who will tell us😀) how long that will go on. Maybe Harmony will get out and seek help from Spike or Buffy will see him with other female demons.
I will wait and see.
I don't plan on keeping our two heroes apart simply because of some misunderstandings for too long, don't worry. I'm not trying to use a trope, in fact it's all done in a way that will mean they'll need to be more open about what they each want out of this. I'm a strong believer in communication and truth as the basis for a healthy, lengthy relationship. And Spike will need to get his ass into gear and set himself as a Master so that he can withstand future attacks.
The Initiative is an abomination that needs to go down, and Spike and Anya should be able to convince even Buffy of this (considering she declared war on them on the show before the storyline was pulled, I see that as a clear possibility)
Of cooooooourse there's gotta be a misunderstanding- fingers crossed we can get double-agent Anya on the case to clear things up! Honestly I'm just excited to see some more Spuffy interaction. Your characterization of Spike is super interesting, and I'm excited to see how he does when they actually communicate.
Well, things couldn't exactly go smoothly, now could they? I promise there will be more communication as we move along.
Love the Spike & Anya exchange. Very reminiscent of their conversation in Where the Wild Things Are.
Ooh! Commando troop well and truly flattened, but not dead. Excellent.
And naturally, Buffy sees Spike helping Sandy and jumps to the wrong conclusion.
Spike and Buffy could have a wrong-conclusion-jumping competition... and it would be a draw.
True on all accounts, although I'm thinking that Anya's influence might help them cut through the crap faster. Thank you for the comment.
Sandy is a bIg mistake but at least he smacked some commandos
I don't see taking on a minion as a big mistake. He'll need a support system if he's to be able to continue to operate as the Master of Sunnydale with the Gem.
Oh black, you're so mean to spuffy. Just leave spuffy alone!
I would, but would it still be Spuffy if everything went as it should? :P
It would but it would feel strange because it was missing all the angst lol
Sigh....another fic going the "easily avoided misunderstanding" route where Buffy makes an assumption and runs, right after realizing that she screwed up by...making an assumption and running.
Don't get me wrong. I am enjoying the story, but I feel like you're better than this. I mean, Buffy is absolutely the queen of denial, but she's not dumb.
How can someone being supported by someone else because they have a broken leg in any way be mistaken for a "sexy stroll"?. Not really sure I buy that.
Oh well, I will be here for the next chapter regardless. Minor inconsistencies, and ganya (shudders), aside I am still enjoying this overall.
Thank you for the comment. I didn't intend to go the 'easy way' but that's how the story ended up going. In my mind, she didn't really stick around long enough to take in what was gong on, instead letting her insecurities take the wheel and make her run. Sorry you don't like Ganya, but I do :D Hope the next chapter is more to your liking.
Way to jump to conclusions Buffy. I'm glad Spike and Anya can talk about things the others won't get. Demon to demon.
Exactly. That's what makes Anya so invaluable. She can relate to both demons and, to a lesser extent, to humans, though she's learning to cope with that too.
Love Spike's analysis of the pro's and con's of his choices and now he has decided what he wants to do to keep alive with the gem.
Anya is a perfect sounding board for him too. She knows the options as well as he does and helps him keep his thoughts straight as he decides what he wants to do and how to do it.
Love that he's going to make a minion of Sandy. He could have a fine setup once he gets organized. Yeah, he needs to talk to Buffy before she gets her tail in too big of a twist.
Naturally, she would see Spike with Sandy and assume he moved on. She should have talked to him right away instead of waiting.
Spike needs to set things up for the long run, and Sandy will help with that. Of course Buffy should have talked with him, but when do either of them do things the easy way? Thank you for the comment.
