Oh, I was ever so happy to see your name pop up again! Welcome back to Spuffy/writing This piece is so very lovely, with a beautiful rhythm of tenderness in this quiet, exploratory place of reconnection.
That means so much to me ^^ Thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed this little piece!
“You get what I’m doing, right? Like, as a gesture.” – I just love this. That is so Buffy, so cute, and so meaningful for Spike!
This was absolutely beautiful. And so quiet and peaceful. Favoriting!
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed.
This was lovely. Feelings is what scares Buffy the most. It's great to see how they are taking things slowly. Buffy is allowing herself to really see Spike and gets to notice things about him. They are also actually talking with each other, sharing stories and getting to know each other. Spike was already good at knowing her, but it would probably be more right to say that he understood her. Now he is really knowing her, personal things and everything.
It was a good gesture with Buffy also sinking to her knees to show that they are equal, he's not beneath her. Lovely scene at the end with Buffy loving him and "borrowing" his peace.
Thank you so much! <3
A lovely look at a timid Buffy moving forward after her realization that she does love him. She is taking her time, partly in fear. His love has always overwhelmed her. In the past part of it was because she didn't want it. Now she does want it but is going in the shallow end and taking her time.
Spike is willing to let her take the lead, just happy to have Buffy want to be close to him.
I love her going to her knees after he has done so. In the past he has been her willing slave and he's just shown he would be that again. Her action shows she sees him as her equal now. This will be different from the last time. This time she'll take the time and be there with him all the way.
Excellent story. You really capture the fear that accompanies their love.
Your thoughtful comment warmed my heart I'm so glad you enjoyed and thank you for taking the time to write such a kind response!
I love this. Buffy has always had a problem handling 'big' emotions, and it is wonderful to see her working to process them and internalize them here instead of running away or denying them. I love that she is opening up and sharing everything she is, no matter how trivial.
Then, a moment of clarity. She sinks to her own knees, face close to his. The imagery here is perfect. Equals, partners, lovers - there is no need any longer for a willing slave, and she doesn't want one. They have come through so much, and their is so much unknown ahead of them, its no wonder that they are both overwhelmed. Still, they have each other, and the time to sort it out.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I’m so glad this translated. The imagery of Spike on his knees before Buffy is really iconic to me and I’m glad these scenes conveyed a different, but still enjoyable, SB dynamic. d84;a039;
