This was sad but so perfectly true, both Buffy and Spike would have acted like that during that time. Buffy has clearly thought about this, she now understand their actions, too late but now she gets it. Make sense that she would talk to Faith about this. The last part showed us a little glimmer of hope for Buffy at least.
A glimmer, but still a start. Thank you so much for the review!
This is a sad but insightful piece. I can see both Buffy and Spike behaving just this way. Buffy would have rejected it had Spike drawn her to him in an embrace as he so wanted to do. Glad she knew why he didn't and maybe felt a bit guilty.
No Faith didn't really get it. She still hadn't anyone that connected love and sex as one thing. She could "get" the hot vamp sex but not the emotional side notes.
I would hope that Buffy is fully aware of why Spike didn't seek her out. I hate that he dusted without any reunion though.
It's a shame that the Scoobies hadn't softened since he saved the whole bloody world.
I'll let the reader decide for themselves whether or not he comes back Faith really was the perfect companion for this chat, for the exact reasons you stated. The poor girl. I just feel like that's what would have naturally progressed with the Scoobies after the events of season seven. Yes it was war time, but there were still some things that would be extremely difficult to come back from. I feel like they would have all ignored it and pretended they were fine, and the distance would spread... And bam. Thank you so much for the wonderful review!!
