Love the band reference. Always funny and so unbelievable 🤣
[Report This]Buffy is wanting to be with spike every time
[Report This]
You always send me spiralling deeper into the web of words you weave.
[Report This]Definitely an Aurelian vamp so ready for anything
[Report This]
Oh buffy what do you do to all the vampires?!
[Report This]Something has really freaked out Spike and Buffy would of course want to know what it is, but Spike will tell her when he is ready. The way Buffy tried to push into Spike's mind did not look good. Hank is coming through in a good way, I really like that. They can use an ally in the police so telling Kate is good.
I really liked the talk about blood magic and the world at the end.
[Report This]
Hank really is rising to the challenge. Proud of him. Perhaps he'll freak out later...
And it's time for Kate's mind to be blown. But as Buffy says, they really could do with an ally in the police.
I wonder what freaked Spike out so much... and where have he and Angel toddled off to?
And what are the bad guys intending to do with all that slayer blood?
Can't wait!

Buffy just won't take no for an answer. She protested, but didn’t struggle, tried to worm her way past his walls, into his memory of the dreamlands. But every time she pushed, he fortified the barrier between them. He was better at that kind of stonewalling, courtesy of his repressed Victorian upbringing. She wasn’t getting in unless he let her. He'll tell her when he's ready. She needs patience too (they have a lot in common on a regular basis).
“Be handy to have folk like that around.” I love her using the word 'folk' for them. She really has learned so very much.
Poor Kate. I love how Hank is bulling it all together though. He's really coming through AND thinking on his feet.
Excellent update.

Thank you for the update, I was starting to think we'd seen the last of this fic. (Not a criticism, just a worry, especially in this pandemic period)
I hope all goes well for you IRL and that this is a sign of more updates to come.
That is one thing I can promise: I will never abandon this fic. Hassle me if I'm being slow. I'll let you know what's going on. In this case, it was a sinus infection that lasted months. It required courses of escalating antibiotics and steroids, and I'm still trying to shake the after-effects. Blargh.
And it is a sign of more things to come. I should finish spiffing up the next chapter today. :)

Okay, so the minute I make promises about a delivery date, the fates intervene. I got it all done and hated it. Rewriting now. I am so sorry.
♥
[Report This]A strong beginning to the chapter. In my mind it seemed like an extreme amouth of blood, so I'm not sure what actually happened. I did like the intense feeling of this fighting and it was a good surprise to see Hank like this.
It make perfect sense that more and more enemies are answering this, so more allies would indeed be a good thing.
[Report This]
Thrilled to see an update, and your timing is impeccable: I just last night finished my (most recent) re-read of the tale to date.
[Report This]

So happy to see an update!
Disturbing scene with all the slayer-blood-drunk vampires, and the Scourge demons being all... scourgy.
Even more disturbing to see Angel's struggling-to-control-himself reaction.
And Hank comes through in a big way! Well done that man!
Good to see practical Cordelia being practical by rinsing away the blood and removing the vamp-lure to calm things down.
Good to see Buffy & Spike, while not totally unharmed, still conscious and together. And Angel is still having trouble accepting that they're together. Get over it, you git. She's never going to be yours, and you know it!
I do like Hasna and her clean-up-crew allies. And she's right. Buffy and her vamps need to make more strong alliances.
[Report This]
Makes sense that the Scourge should be riled up. Buffy is shaking up the whole order of things and firming them up too. There is a war brewing and Hasna is correct... alliances will be the determining factor. Buffy knew that.
Hank came through like a champion. Good for him.
Excellent update.

[Report This]Hindsight is the only story where, when I see an update in the Most Recent queue, I gasp out loud with delight 😁 .

[Report This]THEN THE LITERAL HANDFEEDING IMNOTOKAY,OKAY? [faceplants]
[Report This]
“What?” he said. Oops. She’d been staring.
“That’s quite the oral fixation you’ve got there, fangface. Is that a vampire thing or is it just you?” She knew the answer to that question from personal experience. As a group, vampires tended to sink their teeth into new experiences, so to speak, but that tongue thing was all Spike. It was like he had to lick something to truly understand it. She wanted to be understood.
Aaaaahhhhhhh! Iloveitsomuch
[Report This]That last bit with the hand feeding always gets me [hearteyes]
[Report This]Coming back for a rereeeaaaad
[Report This]this made me tickled pink enough to laugh out loud by myself. I'm enjoying reading this so much.
[Report This]I could gush about how this story is unpacking the soul discourse BUT INSTEAD I want to talk about something else: in 2020, it is so charming to read about fax machines and datebooks. Like, can you imagine Buffy getting to live through smart phone technology and instagram, social media culture? Could the Hellmouth even? Haha
[Report This]It was the sort of sweet, absolute declaration he’d ached for his entire life. Time had not touched that ache. Blood could not wash it away. This was something pure and good and glowing, and he wanted it.
sometimes I think about how I’m grateful for what the show gave me, but how it wouldn’t live up to my standards now in 2020 by its treatment and writing of characters — like, thank you Whedon for what you offered and I’ve grown older from you but next, sort of deal. But this story and writing is sooooo lovely and touches that perfect ache in between longing and not being able to reconcile with the source material. I’m absolutely wrecked.
[Report This]Wow. Wow. Wow. There are some lines on this chapter that made me breathless as a reader from imagining and as a writer green with envy that I hadn’t thought of them first. Thank you for sharing this with the rest of us. Much much love. I can’t wait to read the rest and see where it goes. I’m so spoiled to know there’s this whole story ahead of me.
