Thank goodness all that Glory business is done with. Sucks Dawn had to lose her memory.
I liked that Spike and a Buffy fight to get to Dawn and Angel didn't.
Yeah, I filed that away very quickly and neatly, probably too much so, but... I wanted to get back to the real story, which wasn't this.
Yeah, Angel over reacted just a bit there. Sheesh. I was wondering when someone would think about consulting the Oracles.
And the thought entered her head unbidden, whole and entire, shocking her with the realization. I love you. -- this bit made me tear up
Isn't a great to see Buffy finally being honest with herself?
Gods, Angel, calling Dawn an it and wanting to lock her up! What would he do to her if he got a hold of her?
Angel would do what Angel does... which is torture and kill people, if you watch Angel the Series.
Gods, I hope Buffy doesn't really believe that shit about Spike damaging her. That is a really insidious thing to say to someone.
Buffy always took WAY too much of what Angel said to heart.
Well, I'm glad Buffy and Angel aren't happy together. Angel thinking Buffy's been tainted by Spike is pretty disturbing.
Why does Buffy want to make Spike jealous?
Buffy wants to make Spike jealous because it's one way of holding on to him. A crappy, bitchy way, but a way.
You'd better be sorry! Ugh! Well, I guess I'd rather Bangel not work out because they don't work together than because they can't have sex, if that's where you're going with this. That'd better be where you're going with this.
it can’t take away the shame of what I’ve done without a soul. And I shouldn’t have let it in the first place. -- Damn straight he shouldn't have let it.
So sorry... so, so sorry....
Ugh! I freakin' hate Angel! I hate him for torturing Spike, for almost killing him, and I hate him for what he did to Buffy when he knew it was hurting her to not be able to be together. He doesn't deserve to have his soul anchored. He deserves to be miserable. But way to go Cordy for telling him some home truths, not that I think he listened.
So glad Buffy took Spike's side here. I was really worried about how she'd react.
Buffy HAD to take Spike's side. She'd set him up for this, and Angel was really acting the monster.
Oz did the right thing, but looks like it kinda backfired. Is Angel really going to believe Spike when he's wasted?
Spike is totally blasted, isn't he? Probably a good thing... will numb some of the pain.
Can Spike really get off the drugged blood? I'd think the Initiative would call him back and drug him up before that happens.
Interesting scenario Oz had thought up for him and Willow and Tara. If anyone can make it work, they can.
Poly relationships can work very well for certain people.
Loved Xander's Dark Knight distraction, that made me lol. And now everyone except Angel knows about Spike and Buffy. But is it really Oz's place to tell? I would want to know, but it's better to hear it from your SO than a third party. I speak from experience, there. Too embarrassing to hear from someone else.
Everyone loves Xander's Batman diatribe!
Now it was as if she’d poured herself into the exact shape of what he needed-- Ugh. Just ugh.
Buffy got to admit there's more to her affair with Spike than just sex. If it was just sex she wouldn't be running these kinds of risks. And now Xander knows, too, but it's a little different than he thinks.
Angel is a creep, isn't he?
It really isn't a very well kept secret, is it? And now Spike is invading her life and making her think of him outside of dirtybadwrong Spike thoughts.
Buffy and Angel don't really seem to have much of a relationship at all.
Yeah, no. Everyone is slowly coming to know. Everyone but Angel....
Wow, they are just both in really bad places right now, and this affair is messing with both of their heads. I don't think this is going to turn putt well.
Things are coming to a head....
Glad Buffy talked to Joyce about it. She gave the best advice she could. I don't believe Spike doesn't have real feelings, but he doesn't seem as invested in a real relationship like he was in canon. He just seems infatuated and obsessed, really. Not sure I understand what the Initiative thinks is going on with him.
Life is a ball up for both of them now.
Very sexy chapter.
I think we’re perfectly capable of stopping each other if we mean it -- Well, isn't that just asking for trouble?
Oh, they are totally asking for all kinds of trouble.
Some of that was good for Buffy to hear, but she really shouldn't be equating her situation with her parent's. I have a feeling a part of Buffy is already planning to be with Spike again. The cheating thing is actually bugging me a bit more than I thought it would. I mean, it's Angel and I hate him and he's being selfish, but she's cheating...
Well, this is the cheating story. It's part of the concept. But I have weird views on cheating personally, and while I didn't try to give them to Buffy -- I think she's monogamous -- my philosophy probably snuck in there a bit.
Why did he have to do what she wanted from Angel? -- Because he is so not Angel it's ridiculous!
So Oz knows what happened, but if anyone were to know he's the best one, he won't tell anyone. I'm still just thinking poor, poor Buffy. She's so young and in such a rough situation.
Oz is a clever and discrete young man. Buffy, however... she got herself into a knot it's going to be a real bear to untie from.
Angel just really doesn't know how to human, does he? Asking Xander to be a stud for him, of all things! Thank goodness Xander set him straight.
Poor, poor Buffy. She really is going kind of mad with it, isn't she?
Well, it's really hard not to go all out on the sexy-times when you've been holding back so long.
Poor Buffy! And even poor Angel a little bit. He's still a douchebag, but it isn't a fair situation. But he could still get Buffy off and just take it as his punishment for oh, say, a century or two of murder and rape and torture?
I loved Spike's performance. I can so picture his melodramatic acting.
Angel doesn't like the idea of not getting his. I'm not even sure he understands the idea of a woman getting hers.
Spike melodrama is a work of art.
Wow, could Angel have been any more condescending? Sheesh! No wonder Buffy was all worked up! But I have to say I'm glad Buffy at least got pissed over it instead of just going into denial about how he made her feel.
Angel... is pretty pure Angel in this one. I couldn't soften his character at all, given the circumstances. But Buffy's starting to grow up and become disillusioned with Angel, living with him every day.
Geez, things are really bad for Spike right now. How's he ever going to get away from the Initiative? They've got him well and truly trapped. And poor Cordy! Of any of them to get facial scars, it'd be hardest on her.
So this is really interesting, all the relationships and where everyone's at right now.
Yeah, I was rough on Cordy for this one. I had to get her back to Sunnydale and vulnerable, so... I was pretty cruel to her.
Wow, does Buffy sound like she's in denial or what?
He loved to feel her against him, so small and vulnerable, so young and so pure. -- Gag. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to finish this one if it's full of Bangel, but I'm going to give it my best shot because I generally wind up loving stuff you write, as long as it's not unrelentingly dark. I'm trusting you, Sig!
It... does have a lot of Bangel, much more than I'd like, but... that's how Buffy works in early seasons. Thanks for trusting!
i like the character development in this story.. oz and willow are more upfront and trying, cordy is more mature and less shallow.. the plot took them to new places, unknown and uncertaint situations..
and may i say? ooo.. hell is about to break lose..
I was very keen on Oz and Willow being honest in their relationship. I thought it was important.
great contrasting illustration of the differences between the two.. in the end angel has more darkness and distance in himself then spike inspite of it seeming otherwise at the beginning..
Spike's the guy who wears black leather and chains to keep people away, and keep himself safe. Angel's the guy who looks normal to lure everyone into a false sense of security, and then does whatever he wants to them. One is much more dangerous than the other, in the end, even if they're not killing people.
oh wow.. both Buffy and Spike are so deep in a loooot of mess.. i can see how it's hard to go on.. no easy choices or clear pathes, hardly safe places within reach...their muddling through and indecision is wonderfully portrayed..
Thank you! Yeah, there's nothing easy going on. Buffy's in a hard place, and Spike has fallen off a cliff. It's a terrible moat to swim through.
