I just reread Stomping on Butterflies and saw this sequel. Jumped right in and damn. Angel again. Angel! Angel! Angel! (Say that like Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! Three times fast!) I freaken hate Angel. he really was a pedo and I can't see how anyone he Hollyweird allowed that in cannon. What was Joss thinking writing in stalking and molesting Buffy as a love story?
Anyway, I am so very happy that you have time to write more in this verse. I love everything you give us and am so eager to read any updates you post. Buffy and Spike are in a good place. The gang is strong. We know Angel is going to be the Reigning King of Pricks he always is, but maybe it won't last as long or be as torturous on the group as his original run. I can just see Angel pitting all those young girls against each other and manipulating them into his brand of depravity. But what worries me, is "Who is he going to go after to pull a seer into his putrid hands?"
I honestly have no idea why the Angel-Buffy story is so hallowed as a great romance. He hits all the trademarks of a pedo and a stalker, and I find it horrible. Then again, remember that most of Buffy's relationships have been destructive. Pike was an adrenaline junky, Angel was the absolute worst, the few boys she was interested in (Ford, the frat guy worshipping a demon, Scott, Parker) wither wanted to physically or mentally scar her (and they did), Riley was the patriarchy in corporeal form overbearing one of the epitomes of female empowerment, and even Spike in S6 was involved in a co-dependent and destructive relationship with her. She wasn't really allowed to have any fun and she really deserved a lot better.
That being said, I hope I can rehabilitate as much as possible. Thank you.
I love how this Buffy can't even imagine falling for Angel LOL. Yes, he did groom her in a classic sense (and stalk her...those times of coming in to her bedroom just to watch her sleep were CREEPY).
he still achieved his main goal: he got you thinking about him. He did it throughout the first year of your ‘fairytale romance.’ He’d sweep in, remind you that he’s older, wiser, and all-fucking powerful, dangle his forbidden fruit in front of the impressionable young girl barely managing to cope with a new city, divorced parents, school, and her duty. Of course he got you panting at his heels. It’s the same thing pedophiles have been doing for eons.” I am so glad that Buffy can easily see this for the truth it is.
Oh this is not good! Angelus is back and going to go after Buffy and Spike in a big way (Dawn is in grave danger too). Poor Chantrelle to be his new Dru!
Thank you very much for the review.
Nice to see this again.
I liked seeing Buffy and Spike talk. He told her about Angel but not only the bad things he did mention the good parts too and it's good to see him being honest. They don't know that Angelus is back, but they will know.
I also liked what we saw from Dawn, her thoughts seemed very fitting.
Seeing Angelus and Chanterelle was both disturbing but also done really well. She do remind us a bit of Dru but she isn't a seer. Angelus does of course not like answering to someone else, he will fight to get lose from that too.
Glad you enjoyed it, despite the disturbing Angelus parts.
No way!!! Spike teaching Xander how to put the moves down and it totally worked, nice. I did not see a friends with benefits thing coming for Tara and Faith, and I don't even know how to handle it. I'm really glad you didn't make them in a relationship, just boiling buddies. Where do we go from here? Can't w ait for another update!
Glad you liked it and I hope you enjoy the rest, when it comes.

A sequel to one of my favorit stories, this is a good day.
I like what we are learning so far. Spike's plan to help Faith seems to have worked, what we saw of her was good. I didn't expect her in a casual relationship with Tara but I like it. Xander is learning from Spike and Jesse and Amy seems to have a good life and so does Jenny and Giles. Interesting to learn about Darla and Angelus.
The Mayor is becoming a problem. I would have expected that he wanted a lose canon as Angelus away from his town, but I suppose he can tolerate the chaos to get rid of problematic people. I will probably like this a lot.
In my view the Mayor really doesn't care what happens as long as he gets left alone enough to go through with the preparation for his Ascension. In my head-canon he took advantage of both the Master and Angelus distracting Buffy from realizing the worst evil in town was its mayor.
Scary stuff with Angelus working with the backing of W&H. If they think they can or will control him they are nuts though.
So he ran a sort of The Bachelorette competition delving to Dru like torture and the "rose" at the end being getting turned! Sick but sounds like Angelus. I feel sorry for Chantarelle who will never be Lily or Anne now. She'll be a blonde Dru.
Cool side detail that Robert Graham is responsible for the necro tempered glass.
The Mayor is bringing Angelus to Sunnydale...SO not good!
So Jenny and Giles are doing well together...good. I think Angelus will be a major threat for her though. They need to be very careful.
She withdrew her hand as if it was on fire as soon as she was sure he was done. Yeah Cordy...notice she waited until she was sure Xander was done LOL.
LOL Xander taking lessons from Spike will be life changing for him. Might even get him a better relationship with Cordy this go round.
I'm excited for this sequel! Going to get ugly in places but I have faith it will all work out.
Thank you for the review. The way things are, Angelus will go a lot darker before any light can be seen, but it's tha nature of his beast. Also considering he's working for WRH, who's been contracted by the Mayor... yeah... we're in for some pain.
Wow,great start. Love the set up for this fic so far. I liked the whole Faith/Tara fling possibly making it easier for them both to have meaningful relationships in the future.
Glad you liked. They both need some healing before they can actually start having a relationship.
Ooh - love all the little set ups. Obviously with the exception of Angelus' sick game (shudders!). Can't wait to see how this follow-on plays out!
Glad you like the beginning, as the muse works, there will be more. Thank you.
