Annnd this rates both a "wow" and an "ouch" also. Interesting that you're using Angel's point of view, and Angel is feeling concern and love and just a biiiiit of annoyance, after a while ... but we can clearly see how he's hurting Buffy, right up to the last part where he hits on an especially sore spot with "this isn't you". Because we know Buffy's been wondering if she's lost her soul or some part of herself and ... yeah. Ouch. Nicely done.
Thank you! I enjoyed getting to write some Angel, he's a fun character to write (which is why he got a spinoff, I guess :P).
“You sound like my dad. Tell me the truth, you two have been talking behind my back, right? That whole skipping-town and coming back at the worst possible second…that’s straight from the fucking Hank Summers playbook.”
Ouch! Totally accurate, but ouch all the same![Report This]
Both Buffy and Angel seems to be in character. I loved how she said to him that he tried to make it about himself. Comparing him to Hank was good too.
Thanks, I'm glad the characterization made sense to you!
that explains this thing with Spike. He always did have a way of getting under people’s skin and breaking down their barriers. Angel’s fist clenches. That bastard. If he really did love her he'd be glad someone could reach her. Knowing Spike's capacity for love and willingness to devote himself to caring for another (his century with Dru proved that) Angel should be glad Buffy has Spike. Instead he's jealous and selfish.
“Oh, of course you’ve found a way to make this about yourself,” Yup because the whole universe revolves around Angel, the legend in his own mind.
Nicely done piece where you really do show how little Angel knew Buffy (probably at all but at least after he left Sunnydale). He has an image of her and she is not living up to it and he is at a total loss. He also doesn't LIKE this Buffy.
Buffy is actually seeing rather clearly IMHO in spite of her pain and depression (and Willow's magic).
Thank you! Glad the characterization rang true for you :)
