I don't usually do Vampire!Buffy stories, they are not really my cup of tea but as this one was by you I thought give it a go! I'm so glad I did! It was bloody brilliant! You did an amazing job!
Aww, you're so sweet! And thank you! I wrote it in much the same space, "Thought I'd give it a go." I'm glad it came out okay!
Naaaawwwww! This was a brilliant ending for this fic. Buffy finally has her freedom, and I have a feeling that Spike is going to ensure she enjoys it. Interesting choice of Kennedy being the next slayer in line, but it makes sense. She was my least favourite potential, so I'm kinda glad she was just a footnote in this.
You did a brilliant job of world building in this story. I really enjoyed how Spike and Buffy's relationship developed, and I am most definitely a convert of vamp!Buffy fics now...so long as they're done right like this one.
Thanks so much for the entertaining read, I'm off to dive into your other challenge fit now.
Kennedy is not a good person, so I don't blame her for being your least favorite anything. But she was the oldest, the best trained, and she had a watcher on call. And I kind of liked the idea of her being around while Willow still had Tara to compare her to... It cannot be a favorable comparison.
Spike is going to take excellent care of his soulled up fledgeling slaypire, because he loves her dearly. I'm so, so, SO glad you enjoyed this story! I cannot speak for any other vamp!Buffy fics, because I haven't read any, but I'm very very glad you liked this one!
Had lots of catching up to do, so saved my last review for the end. Nicely done. I believable vamp Buffy and a very in-character Spike. I'm hoping they are off to have wonderful adventures. :)
Wonderful adventures would be a wonderful end to everything, wouldn't it?
An extended road-trip is the perfect ending to this awesome story. Maybe Spuffy will visit a certain demon shaman in Africa to get her soul anchored?
I leave it very very open to interpretation what will happen to both of them! I'm so, so glad you enjoyed the story you inspired!
Awww, Buffy and Spike! Yay Faith dead! Ugh, Kennedy... I'm just gonna pretend she dies real quick... And painfully...
I don't know exactly what happens with Kennedy... I'm betting she doesn't end up in Willow's bed, though!
Thank fuck for that XD
I loved the story! This open ending was very interesting and I would like to read a sequel, but it was really good anyway.
I feel sorry for Buffy. She really can’t be happy because of the curse, despite she finally has a weight off her shoulders, now that Faith is dead and there's a new slayer in charge. And besides, she shouldn't feel guilty about Faith, because it was self-defense. Get out of Sunnydale might be good for her. I loved the last line. Spike hasn't given up to try and make her happy. That brings hope.
It was self defense, she was even trying to apologize. Like I've said in a few other reviews, I was considering a sequel or two, but no direct plans yet. I'm so, so glad you liked the story, and that's for reading!
I don't know that Kennedy is much of a step up from Faith. And won't that be fun. Kennedy flashing her tongue piercing at Willow trying to push Tara out. It really seems that the actual curse is the only thing responsible for the guilt. Cause really what does Buffy have to feel guilty about? Her soul has done nothing wrong so why the guilt? Because the curse calls for it because it was meant for Angelus. They should try to do something about that.
Yeah, the guilt isn't just guilt, it's also self hatred, and yes... the curse is a CURSE. It's a CURSED soul, which sucks. But she had some of this guilt before she was killed -- that whole thing she said about everyone who Spike or Angel ever killed being all her fault, because she didn't slay them. Martyr complex... in a vampire. It really is a curse.
As for Kennedy, I doubt Willow is going to be remotely interested in her without Tara around.
And let that be the lesson evil pay off.....hehe just kidding. ..
R.I.P Fahit ,shame because I really liked her, but it was the only way to free Buffy I guess.
For ending this felt way to much like a beginning.Great work! !!
It does feel like a beginning, doesn't it? Thanks for reading! I'm so glad you like it.
I was torn over Faith, but at the state she was in... she was over the line onto evil territory, and while she may have been redeemable, it's a slayer's job to redeem. Not a vampire. Faith and Buffy were too much of rivals to get through to her, like Angel did. There was no reaching her then, and she really would have killed Buffy given a chance.
This was great! I loved this story beginning to end and hope to maybe see some random one shots from this verse in the future. I love the last little bit with the "Tradition "
I was planning on some sequels, actually. I sort of have them semi plotted out. Working on Otherwise right now, though. I'm so glad you liked this story!
Fuck yeah! Not closed off, eyes on the future. I love.
Also: hah!! I kinda love that you made Willow talk about Kennedy as she did about Sam, once upon another timeline. Heh, Tara and Kennedy there at the same time...poor Willow is gonna have whiplash :)
I don't think she's gonna have any trouble. Between the two, Kennedy is an obviously entitled bitch.
I'm so glad you liked the ending! Eyes on the future is the best way to be.
Wow didn't see that coming but happy with the ending. Or is it? Would be interesting to follow them on vacation or when/if they return. Thank you for the story.Look forward to the other one now.
Snigger. Well, the other one is coming. The ending is happy enough, where they are right now. Thanks for reading!
I didn't expect that at all, but I can't say I'm exactly remorseful about Faith.
It's really hard to see Faith's death as a tragedy in this instance, at least from this side.
Faith did sort of hold some of the last big issues from Slayer's life as Buffy. This freed her from them much as she is mostly free from Angel. She did feel guilty for Faith before and didn't want to kill her, but this was self defense. Getting away from Sunnydale seems like a fitting way to end this story.
It seems like Spike still hasn't managed to get Buffy perfectly happy. Well being free from Sunnydale will make it easier for her to get rid of it, it is a curse after all. The important thing is that Spike is soul free, just as he should be. No symbol of failure this time
I saw your answer for the former chapter. So I'm gonna say something I have never sad before, "don't write a sequel" I can't see that leading to anything good.
Now over to something completely different. The mention of Red Dwarf earlier suddenly gave me this thought. What if something like the xenomorph could turn up in Sunnydale and attacing the Scoobies. I got this thought how it would turn Angel into a good character much like Arnold was turned into Ace for a while well, I just had to share these thoughts.
Thank you for the story.
I'll just warn you in advance you wouldn't like the sequels. But most everyone else I know would, so... *shrug*.
Red Dwarf is DA BOMB!
Excellent finish. I look forward to more. The soul curse is such fascinating material to work with, being both absurd and intricate. Buffy's constant over thinking could take these stories anywhere.
Well done! Thanks for sharing.
It is a lot of things. A curse as well as the soul, which makes it all very complex. Your'e right, it could go almost anywhere. Thanks for reading!
Perfect ending, except for the irony of That Kennedy being called to replace Faith, and she's coming to Sunnydale while Willow is with Tara.
I really hope you're planning a sequel when Slayer & Spike come back to Sunnydale... perhaps later... in season 5 for Glory?
Well, she was the oldest and most well prepared... But I don't see her and Willow getting on AT ALL in these circumstances.
I'm sad to see this finished (and happy thinking now you'll update the other story) It was a great story and I loved your vamp!Buffy :)
Yeah, the other story is to be updated in a few hours! I'm so glad you enjoyed this, and I'm glad this VampBuffy resonated!
