Oh man I love Aggie soo much. The fact that It's Not Her Fault. Her love for Dear Richard (and Spike). The fact she manages to survive despite being clueless... I also love the odd little nods to bits of Britain I know and love (architecture, locations... I lol'd so hard at the little Elizabethan manor being lovingly looked after then having double glazing and central heating installed... although leaded lights are bloody crafty!)
This at the very start of the chapter made me chortle... After years living in America where sausages usually meant hot dogs - an expression she had always found odd, because a chilli dog was not, apparently, the complete opposite
Thank you so much for commenting and I am delighted you enjoy Agnes' adventures so much. She does tend to get under your skin a bit! I am in middle of next chapter which I will post once she tells me what exactly happened! Thank you again.
Oh and if you know anyone else who might enjoy Agnes, do let them know, please. She doesn't have that many followers for her new adventures!
I'll do my best Lilachigh. Is one allowed to do fanfic crossovers? I'd hoot to have Spike from Gwennie's fic bump into Aggie once he's back in Blighty...
Yay for Agnes and Spike rescuing each other!
And as always, Spike's excuse for not going to Buffy is lame. Wonder what happened to Angel? I wonder if Buffy knows?
And so nearly a reunion!
Now I'm all excited! Please tell me you're leading up to the Spuffy reunion?
Agnes likes Christmas, that's why you write her now. And she's fun.
Thank you for commenting. Yes, Spike and Agnes are fated to be friends (which doesn't actually do Agnes any favours!). Likewise Buffy and Spike are destined to be together - but sometimes it is hard achieving that!
Intriguing to see Agnes might have the true 'sight'. That might have served her well in the past if she'd only known!
And again we see how much pain Buffy is in.
I wonder if it was one of Agnes' boys who got so careless?
I wonder how long it's going to be before Giles remembers where he's seen Agnes before...[Report This]
Love the little link back to Sunnydale. Buffy in denial, as always, and Faith calling her on it, as always.
And the watcher assumes Agnes is the cleaner, and Faith assumes she's a watcher. Lucky escape there, but sad way to find out about Spike![Report This]
Agnes has the sort of feel of Christmas...home and comfort food and family...maybe that's why you are inspired. I'm glad you are.
Aggie has reunited with her friend but she's not said the"B" word yet. She should. It's likely not good that Spike is not telling the truth because he is a terrible liar and will be caught out.
Buffy is feeling something in the air. Of course she has no idea who it is much less that it IS a who.
Sad about how Spike realizes no one was looking for him as he would have for Liam. Yeah I think that's how it would have played out. Spike was always far more loyal than Angel after all. Angel tended to use Spike more than have him around because he cared. Spike, however, stayed with Angel at least partly to help Angel who was in over his head.
Excellent update. Glad they are safe at the moment. Looking forward to more.
Glad you enjoyed the chapter! I always await your verdict with trepidation. Yes, there is a distinct lack of communication around at the moment. Spike has yet to admit why he got involved with Ethan. I don't think that particular relationship if over yet! Thank you again.
I'm anxious to find out what Spike's business with Ethan was. Great update!
Thank you! Yes, that of course is what the whole story at present hinges on. I doubt if he just bumped into Ethan by chance. I'm suspicious about the scar on his mouth and am waiting for Agnes to tell me what happened next!
Agnes is a delight, as always! The dear just wants a peaceful life, but she just can't seem to manage it. She's smack in the middle of a whirlygig of fun between Spike, Ethan, and Buffy. Though it probably won't be much fun for her, alas.
Near miss there with Buffy and Spike passing, as camper vans and rental cars, in the night. Spike's avoidance isn't going to win him much sympathy when they finally collide, me thinks.
I'm so happy to see more of this!
Thank you so much for commenting. Yes, Spike is living in a fool's paradise if he thinks he can avoid Buffy for much longer. Poor Agnes is going to have a difficult decision to make very soon. And Ethan and Spike's relationship needs exploring a little more, too!
That was a little of fun to read. This Agnes universe is one of my favorite things. (hmm hmm hmm whiskers on kittens). Thank you for sharing.
Hmmm, whiskers of kittens, I agree. But also claws.
Good to see a new chapter of this.
There's something calm and homey about Agnes. It's good to see her with Spike. Her comments are making him feel guilty much in the same way as a mother would. I must say that I really enjoyed the drawings made by the vampire children. The fact that there are drawings are so perfectly normal but the motive points out who has drawn this.
A little glimpse of Buffy, things are building up it seems.
Indeed, things are going to get very involved very soon. But I think Agnes would like to get Christmas out of the way first. But then her love of a quiet life never quite comes to fruition, does it?
I love this character. She might not have ever really lived while alive she makes up for it now. Please continue with her stories and her possible travels. Thank you.
Thank you so much and welcome to Aggie's Army as Pfeifferpack calls readers who love her! I'm sorry for delay in replying and hope to do better in future!
Agnes could see no reason why being a vampire meant you neglected personal hygiene. I'm in complete agreement with Agnes. The same goes for some of the fashion disasters a certain element in vampire circles succumb to.
It was almost as if Mr Rayne and his friends were anxious she shouldn’t know where they were going or what they were going to do. I knew Ethan was up to no good. Agnes will ferret out what's taking place (maybe letting Mr. Giles know or she might run into Dawn and through her let Buffy know). Spike needs to show up and help set all to rights too!
Mr Rayne wanted to start a revolution! That was the main thing she’d learnt. The vampires she’d been helping weren’t escaping from some undisclosed terror, they were being gathered together to fight the Slayers. He's gotten far more ambitious. No longer content to just cause mischief he's turned mean. Then again Buffy and Giles did hand him over to the Initiative so he has quite the ax to grind.
YES Spike! So Ethan has him (wonder if he's used magic of some kind on him to force Spike to do his bidding?). Clearly Rayne knows that Spike can be used as a tool to hurt Buffy. Not good!
But it is good that Agnes found him. Maybe she can actually help him and they can work together to combat Ethan and his army. Ethan might find the burned ruins of the hotel and think Aggie and Spike both burned to dust.
Excellent update...always to see this update. Love our Agnes.
So glad to hear from you and your comments, always anxiously awaited! Yes, Ethan, or Mr Rayne as Aggie insists on calling him! - is out for revenge in a big way. I think the meeting between Spike and Agnes will be interesting. I'm waiting for her to tell me what happened!
I have trouble finding more words to use, but it's so lovely to see Agnes. This wonderful little older lady, with the way she think and acts and who just happens to be a vampire. She is trying to find a new meaning with her life by working for Ethan but she notices that things are wrong. I do wonder what Ethan is after? He always seemed more like a trixter than a big bad. As always it's great to see the special vampire view Angel has to the world.
A good cliffhanger, there are several scenarios that could follow this.
Delighted you are enjoying the story. I think Ethan is out for revenge. He's always had the brains, just not the incentive!
I absolutely adore Agnes, and not only do I get her but I get a nice little plot twist to chew on. Awesome job.
How very kind. I love hearing from people who like Agnes as much as I do!
So now we have left the canon and moved on. This is an interesting scenario that has been built up. It's good for Agnes to have some work to do. I just hope it won't go badly for her. I like that Richard still is looking after her.
It will be good to see where all this will lead.
Thank you! Yes, canon left way behind now! Things are certainly going to get complicated for Agnes.
Oh dear Agnes do not trust Ethan! I think we've found Rupert's big bad and a spider he is indeed!
Giles is such an unforgiving Berk. Spike saved the bloody world! He fought for and got his soul! He begrudges him being returned (by the Powers or whomever)! He also can't tell the difference between grief and boredom. He need a sound talking to and smack down. Agnes would be good to shame him into thinking better of the vampire he never appreciated and evidently still doesn't.
Why THEY are attributing things to an earthquake makes no sense. Buffy told them it was Spike that collapsed the hellmouth and Sunnydale.
I'm rather put out by all of them for not at least honoring what Spike did at least in Sunnydale. As for Buffy she should realize that her little kissy face with Angel along with years of verbal and physical abuse might just have made that one "I love you" of hers less than believable to Spike as he was burning to death. Maybe he had good reason not to hunt for her when returned!
Excellent chapter. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I don't think Agnes will stand for Ethan's shenanigans. If she gets wind that he's leading decent god fearing vampires astray and to their dusting she'll put her foot down (and maybe even alert dear Richards near daughter or her friend Dawn at the very least!).
But Kathleen, no one but Buffy saw Spike collapse the Hellmouth. Yes, Buffy told them - but would they believe her? On all the past evidence, I think it extremely unlikely. I always found Giles rather unlikeable, I'm afraid. Perhaps because I'm English and he is so much the outcome of his upbringing. I've also believed that Giles would rationalise it that the First caused the Earthquake and yes, Spike helped, but so did everyone else! Mind you, I am happy to be put right on this point if there is canon to the contrary.
Agnes has a tricky path ahead of her: it is also important that I never forget she is still a vampire! Sometimes I do!!!
Oh dear...Giles recognized Agnes even if he can't place where or when. I don't think he'd be all slay happy though.
Poor Buffy. Well Agnes has seen another side of the Slayer, the girl Spike loved. This is good because she never could see why before.
I think Agnes has a gift! She picked up on Italy and Spike showing up in TGIQ. Maybe Agnes can make AtS S5 better some how. I don't think she'd like Angel nor approve.
Thank you so much for commenting. No, I don't think Agnes and Angel would be close friends - but then, being our girl, she would probably put his behaviour down to a bad childhood!
I love the encounter between Faith and Agnes. Naturally they have common ground in Mayor Wilkins. I think Agnes might be better accepted now provided she could prove she hasn't been killing. Between her love for Spike that would temper Buffy's natural reaction (and her past friendship with Dawn) and her being a love of Richard Wilkins giving a bond with Faith she might not be unwelcome. They might even try to help her with the children.
So Robin is being a jerk about Faith's fondness for the late Mayor...no surprise. My guess is he's pushing for more traditional Watchers Council type behavior.
Oddly enough, in my original notes and ideas for this follow up story, Faith appeared briefly, then vanished again. But as it progresses, I have a sneaking feeling she might play a bigger part than I had imagined. Waiting for Agnes to tell me! Hope all well.
The way the people are thinking and acting are so real. It doesn't matter that much if they are humans or vampires everyone has more or less the same problems in their lives. Agnes is apparently also good at reading people.
Yes, I completely agree and I've been trying to show through Agnes' experiences that everyone has problems! Thank you for reading; I look forward to your comments.
I loved this moment between Agnes and Faith, two people that Richard loved, both in different ways. It was good seeing Faith feeling the loss of him. It seems like that is one issue she has with Robin. The lie Agnes told, wasn't really a lie. It was clear that Richard loved Faith more or less like a daughter. A really good chapter.
Hi and yes, I always felt the relationship between the Mayor and Faith could have been explored more. I thought it very touching.
Welcome back to Mrs. Pringle, one of the greatest characters in Spuffydom. So glad you are revisiting her.
Thank you so much! You have made my day because not a lot of people seem interested in Agnes and her adventures with Spike and Buffy. I can well understand that she might not be to everyone's taste, but a few more readers would be nice. But your comment has made up for that lack a hundred fold. Thank you.
Oh, I Love Agnes. I think I have read these two chapters before. Good stuff anyway.
Thank you so much for reviewing. Much appreciated. You might have read these chapters elsewhere, but first time here because I changed direction of the story which will become apparent in a few chapters time! Hope you can hang on that long!
