This story was such a great ride! I found myself laughing out loud more than once and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing it :)
Thanks for reading and telling me you like it. :)

Just read the first installment and now this oneand really enjoyed both. Was there ever a sequel to this one written? It felt like a sneaky cliffhanger at the end. Totally wanted to see how it played out, if he got to claim her and keep her 😊 i love your stories, always really entertaining no matter what the season, subject or theme! 💖
I'm glad you liked them. Thanks for telling me so. And, no there's been no sequel to this one. I tend to leave them in places where they're happy just then and can be hopeful about the future rather than follow them into that future. Usually. Not always, but I did in this one.
All 's good that ends good (and hot).. 😊
Delightful spuffy plot, with a protective slightly grumpy spike, a not guilty feeling buffy, a somehow understanding giles and not overly dramatic scoobies..
Thank you! I'm glad you like my character treatment. :)
Loved the interaction with clem and dawn... affectionate and concerned spike alternating with flirty spike is a great character..
Thanks!
Thanks!

There's so many things to love about this. But a more vulnerable Buffy definitely is my favorite part.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for telling me so. :)

Spike having a minor panic when Willow hugged him was cute
“You do know you’re your own worst enemy, right?”
Accurate!
:) True, yes?

Dear Riley, having a behavioural modification chip shoved in your noggin and scarpering is not stealing I would end up being very crude if I was to try and say how much Riley is pissing me off right now, and the sad thing is how believable it is given his canon behaviour.
Hey Buffy, don't diss cold pizza breakfast, it's yummy!
The Pot/Kettle exchange made me grin!
We aim to please. :)

"Person A accidentally finds out Person B talks about them" is one of my very favourite tropes and you just know Clem would let that slip, in that bumbling way he has. Not out of malice but out of his complete lack of guile, not even realising what he's letting slip until he's already halfway done saying it.
“Nothing, Slayer. Nothing. He didn’t tell me anything. Just that you were engaged for a while and that he couldn’t remember the last time he was that happy.”
D'aww.
I can totally believe Buffy would try and use her arguments even when she knew she no longer needed to. Seems very her!
It is about your ego, Riley. The girl has bigger things on her mind right now
“I’m having a hard time imagining you groveling,” Buffy said with a small smile. “Although now that I think about it, it could be....” She slapped a hand over her mouth. “Oh God, I shouldn’t talk to you like that, should I? I take it back!”
Foot-in-Mouth Buffy is always entertaining
I'm glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for telling me so. :)

That was cute thank you

I'm glad Buffy didn't turn against Spike, even temporarily, for finishing off Ben.
Buffy stumbling around in the dark was hilarious. What a lovely ending. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for reading. :)

I love that Spike's willing to sacrifice whatever chance he might have with Buffy by killing Ben to save her. I wonder if it will come to that.
Nice twist that when Glory snatches Dawn the troll hammer is nearby, and I appreciate the shortcut through the Tara brain-suck to the attempted kidnap of Dawn - rather than rehash the longer version of events.
Not much sense repeating stuff readers already know unless you're going to twist it somehow. :)

Interesting twist that they are able to remember that Ben is Glory. It's a shame Buffy puts her principles above saving the world, or she'd be happy to take Ben out. I wonder if that's what Giles wants to talk to Spike about. Has Giles figured out that Spike's chipless? Only one way to find out (although I should really be asleep).
And now you know. ;)
Riley managed to do everything wrong here. Now all is well, Glory is gone, Buffy and Spike are together and the Scoobies are accepting. Another great story is done, but several more are waiting for me to have time to read them again.
They will still be there when you have time. Some of them, anyway.
It is nice seeing the Scoobies being this accepting of Spike. Riley is feeling threatened of course, but the others have no problem with Spike.

Poor Clem, he just sat there minding his own buisness and then the Slayer turned up Buffy's irritation that Joyce knew where Spike were was a joy to read. Spike is returning and we can see Buffy's and Riley's relationship go towards it's end. We can see that things between Buffy and Spike are both intense and a bit awkward.

There's those feels again! I just adored that! Beautifully written, I loved your Spike and Buffy in this!
Thank you! :)
This story was so good! I think your style of Buffy, across most of your stories actually, is a little more able to accept her own needs and wants than canon Buffy (which is really nice to read imo). You don't gloss over the differences in Spike and Buffy's moral viewpoints but I think her blend of denial and acceptance is actually very realistic and very human.
Are you thinking of continuing this story? I think Buffy's survival and Spike's status in the group would have far reaching reverberations. I'm curious how you would handle Joyce's health, Willow's magic usage, Xander's development, whether Giles stays or goes, etc. It seems like you hint Riley and the Knights will continue being pains in the tush.
Thank you. I'm glad you approve of my Buffy. I like her a little better than canon Buffy. :)
No, hadn't given any thought to continuing. As a rule, my goal in my fics is to get Buffy and Spike together and then tiptoe away, leaving them to handle the rest of their lives. :) Since I've written stories in just about every season, I don't usually feel a need to continue into another season with one that's come to a satisfactory (to me) conclusion in whatever season it's in, because I know I will probably have addressed the unaddressed events in another, later story.
