Wow I was not expecting a reply this quickly and such a detailed one!
Thanks so much I'm really glad your still wandering around in the comments!
Yay for maybe future fic!
Always makes me feel all squishy and warm inside when authors reply to comments!
This is my favorite story ever, it makes me cry every time I read it even though I know whats coming next.
However I'd love to know about Illiryia please??
Thanks so much
Guh. What a lovely complement! Thank you so very much!
Spuffy and this story will always hold a very special place in my heart and soul, but it took me a bit to get back into Illyria's head space. She's emotionally exhausted, and hates it. She's lost Wes, hates that she's been infected by humanity and all of their feelings, and doesn't want to be awake any more. She hates having, much less acknowledging, any weaknesses, and she definitely thinks that emotion is a weakness. And also? She's got a god-sized ego. So, she's going to go back to the Deeper Well, where she'll sleep - and heal - for an eon or two. And because Buffy has risen to the status of "The One" (because, prophecy and dead but resurrected and defeated the First and other hand - wavey stuff), Illyria has deemed her worthy of escorting a god to its resting place.
Unless, of course, she changes her mind somewhere along the way.
I have a (very) rough outline for a sequel, I just haven't had a chance to work on it.
Nice neat ending. I love Illyria knowing all about the One. My guess is there's a prophecy out there somewhere. So she can share her gift. Please not Angel LOL. Dawn would be good though.
Excellent read. Excellent re-read.
An immortal Buffy (and a great reason for her to cozy up to the Immortal) makes sense.
Poor grieving Spike. To just have her back and her love only to be sure he lost her was horrible. I know he was promising her that he wouldn't let them drag her back from heaven. So glad that Buffy got through to him that she was alive and told him what she needed.
Loved this chapter.
Oh what a careless new Slayer. She should be in the field at least with battles where others can be hurt.
Angel! You are almost funny. He really doesn't want, love or need Buffy but he will not give her up for anyone else especially Spike! This though is the ultimate truth: He didn't know her, and he was pretty sure that she didn't know him so much anymore, either. In truth they NEVER knew one another even back in their day. He is clearly an egocentric idiot, narcissistic to a high extreme!
Another great chapter.
This was the PERFECT chapter! I started to quote parts that were especially good but it would be nearly the entire chapter.
Love the insights on Angel, Buffy and Spike and all the reasons for their actions. Love that they TALK and sort it all out.
The sex love making at the end was tender and hot and sweet.
I really hope they BOTH make Angel pay for his manipulations and lies.
Just an exceptional chapter.
Oh how Angel managed to get between them so easily even in canon. Yeah he's there screaming about cookies...Buffy should never have said that to him.
SO glad Dawn stepped in because those crossed wires were going to just make things so much worse.
Angel is horrible. He's a dog with a bone, he doesn't want it but won't let any other dog near. Jackass!
First he tries to make Buffy jealous of Nina, lure her into his orbit again. When that didn't do what he wanted he decided to twist Illyria's relationship to her pet to make her think Spike had a lover like relationship with her.
Hope she looks to the truth then lays into Angel for keeping them apart and for his lies here.
