I love this one. Usually it's going back in time but this is just as effective...maybe moreso.
Thank you. Your opinion always important to me. I've been asked to continue this story - what do you think?
Oh, so sad. I wonder who sent the chocolates and why?
Well done Dawn. You've done the one thing guaranteed to bring Spike, and hopefully prevent the bitter, lonely version of Buffy she saw.
I appreciate this is a one-shot, but I'd really like to see The Reunion and both Buffy and Spike realising that Dawn has set them up... and being happy and thankful for it!
Thank you for reading and commenting. I might do a little follow up to this story - mind you, my follow ups often turn into vast sagas! And, of course, I never said who Dawn sent the telegram to!
Great; that is if Buffy doesn't send him packing again. Why doesn't she ever realize just how horribly she treated him? Buffy would never be that snarky or rude to Angel or Riley, and they both gave Buffy plenty of reason to act that way. But not Spike; he was there for her until she pushed him away permanently; she knew the amulet was dangerous -- she didn't want Angel to wear it, and Spike heard her tell Angel to go back to LA in case the First wasn't stopped in Sunnydale. To me, this telegraphed loud and clear to Spike, that Angel was still Buffy's "one true love", and that Spike was expendable. I feel that Spike would have felt that Buffy would not have missed him, and so he would decide NOT to run to her once he was able to. His last words to Buffy summed up exactly how Spike really felt; he thought she only said "I love you" to soften the blow of rejection.
I really liked this story, and would like to read more. I will check back for updates.
Thank you for commenting. Your views are interesting. I had no plans to write more of this story, but things could change in the future!
Seeing the clearly unhappy Buffy in the future would of course lead to Dawn trying to make some changes. A simple solution is offten the best, a message like that will make Spike seek out Buffy, which will lead to them talking.
I really hope so! Thanks for reading.
