Another I've re-read to put the series in context. Always love the idea of Spike taking care of a baby. He loves talking care of people.
This was a fun one, though I wrote it before Immortal, so I honestly thought Spike was semi-suicidal at the time. Ah, isn't it fun how impressions of characters grow?
This made me laugh out loud. I've always thought Spike would be good, and amusing, with an infant.
Also, yes. To everything he said about Angel.
Lots of this were direct quotes from my husband. I'm loud you found it amusing! I certainly did.
Spike with a baby huh? He saved a baby in Angel? I could definitely see him talking to a baby like a little adult. I liked the bit about not really looking at who he killed.
Yeah, that was his last act before they all "heroically" (read, Stupidly) threw themselves into the final battle of Not Fade Away. He was cute with a baby.
Beautiful! Your Spike voice is amazing. And the baby gets to be a real character in this, too.
Well, it was serving the purpose of "Damsel" you see. So... it's a baby. It acts like a baby. Thanks!
Oh good god that's good.
This just summed up all my feelings about Angel. I love you author. You give Spike's character validation without woobifying him. I love love love love love love love you
I was so annoyed at Angel when he derided Spike for only spending a few weeks feeling guilty about his evil days. Yeah because brooding about it for years and feeling all ~misunderstood because you didn't ask to have a soul makes you any better, you berk. I so wanted Spike to call him out on it. But now I read this and let me tell you it is incredibly satisfying holy sh*t tell 'em Spike! (well okay tell the baby but u know what i mean)
Also: spike and itty bitty baby. adsdfghjk
god that's really really good
Aww! Thanks so much! Angel... well, frankly, I hate Angel. Always have. And every time I see more of his character, I hate him more and more. I don't know HOW he got so many fans. Creepy smeghead. I'm so glad you like the story! I'm not a big wooby person, me.
I enjoyed the conversation, although is it a coversation when only one is speaking? There were definite moments that made me shake my head in Oh Spike. i.e. nipple/mouth.
The nipple and bottle lines are both DIRECT QUOTES from my husband.
It's too early in the morning for me to express all the feelings this fic made me feel, but just know that there were a lot of them. Just, awww, man. Aww!
*snigger* I'm glad it made you aww.
Such a wonderful rambling. Spike needed this, he doesn't have anyone to really talk to. The baby is someone he can tell all of what is on his mind without being judged or talked back to. He had a lot he wanted to say so it was good for him to say it.
Well, that baby thing must have really been weighing on his mind. Seriously, Angel, a kid? Oi!
Just stay away from the blood, yup, that is good advice. I like Spike being all about the blood and guts even when he's taking care of a baby.
And the drinking. Can't forget the drinking.
I agree with the thought I think Spike was/is(?) the one who now has the death wish. It used to be Buffy but I think Spike has picked up that trait. Another lovely tale. What a way to start the work day!
Glad you liked it! I think he was just... ready for it to be over, either way. Life was complicated.
I'm not sure ibjbow enough words to describe just how much I love your fics. Absolutely perfect. Again a86;a039;
Why, thank you!
Okay, I'm not sure what happened with my review, but it's supposed to say "I'm not sure I know enough words" And the bit at the end was supposed to be smileys.....
It's okay. I got the idea.
Sweet introspection. I do think he's a bit harder on himself than a PTB would be in the end provided he continue to do good.
Absolutely correct in his evaluation of Angel and Darla and the injustice of so much regarding Angel.
Another excellent tale.
I just think the actions he performed wouldn't be based on, "And this will make me good now!" attempts to tip the scales. Just more of a "And this is the right thing to do in this instance..."
