I am very much enjoying your story. It's unique and interesting. However the way women are treated and talked about is disturbingly sexist. To me one of the best things about Buffy and Spike is that he loves and respects her without allowing her superiority to have a negative impact on his ego.[Report This]
So glad this was a featured story! I read the whole thing in one sitting; I couldn't put it down I got so invested.
I love that the setting was so different, taking place in Spain.
Wow! Really an amazing story! Truly epic![Report This]
The last two chapters have made me cry almost as hard as when Dumbledore died, and that was a lot. Dawn's wedding? Spike telling Buffy about her death and his penance? My heart is in pieces and I'm hoping that as the story goes on, it will mend.
Beautifully done.[Report This]
This may be the first time I've ever read a fic where the ending has me torn. The immortality of spike from most fics is constant thus I am happy to read fics because death rarely occurs for him. The fact that you killed them both off was pure genius and bittersweet. Killing of one would create great sadness for the other must continue on. Throughout this fic you allowed us to see what each alone would feel. This was a beautiful idea because Buffy and spikes reaction to the others death is heartbreaking. Letting them die together allows the readers peace with obvious sorrow. Gladly you let us know from the beginning that Buffy when dead felt the presence of her loved ones. Which then makes me and many others super okay with there death. Because we know they are together. Completely sad that it had to end but throughly content with it. GREAT JOB! As an avid btvs fic reader I can say this is one of the most thrilling, beautifully written and entertaining plot.[Report This]
I liked this bittersweet ending. This story was really good and the plot was so original. I find so interesting that in this future the real enemies of the world are mainly human beings, the evil is the thirst for power, the corruption in their souls. The Slayers fight against them and Buffy has to adapt, has to change her view of the world by embracing its shades of grey, the differences, and Spike is her guide through it. Great job! :)[Report This]
The scene between Buffy and Spike was very sweet and touching, but I was quite disappointed that he was going to leave. Angel would leave, Riley would leave, but not him, or rather not the old Spike. So far, all he's done is hurt her. I don't like who he has become and I hope to see the old Spike again, the vampire who was able of unconditional love, the man who would give his life for those he loved, without expecting anything in return.[Report This]
I already hate Loret. And I have a bad feeling about her. Indeed she seems to be quite cruel and I think she could be the enemy, the mystery woman, and ... have I already said I hate her? Anyway Spike is a jerk and I want to see him grovel. :)
Good chapter! I liked the Card Players' introductions.[Report This]
It's interesting that the world knows of Buffy's life and she and Spike became a legend, with various movies about them. The scene where Spike told her about Angel was heartbreaking. Poor Buffy. I can imagine how confusing all that must be for her. How painful must be for her coming back to a world that's moved on without her, with people she loved who moved on with their lives.
I loved the chapter.[Report This]
