Wow. Okay. Buffy's while speech about the world and having nothing left really made me weep. Oh god. She's so... So broken. So empty. I'm also really worried for her. It terrifies me. Poor Dawn for having to go through this. I really hope Giles can figure something out and even Willow if she plans on coming. I wonder if Willow saw something really bad. Oh no...[Report This]
Whew! That was gut wrenching. Some momentum was lost now and again with a superfluous sentence, but overall I did choke up a few different times.
That last bit was so affecting I had to reread the beginning of the chapter. It was a in itself a cool little scene. I thought Angels team were very heel-toe, very differential towards Angel for almost that whole last season, it drove the story, but it also caused the supporting characters to stagnate.
That was a long way of saying I like that you had Wes that upset at the end of the chapter.
Yup Buffy has given and given and had pieces taken in return. She is one tired girl and has been for quite a while. Hoping Willow will actually help this go round.
Glad to see more of this story.
Author's Response: Well, even when I was putting off this chapter (depressing, don't go there, you'll end up feeling like that the whole time you're writing, noooo), I still kept percolating in the back of my head. So I am pretty sure it won't be another three months before the next bit comes out.
Featured? Again? Really?? Neat![Report This]
Oh, how sad for Buffy. She has really had enough. I don't know if Giles can help, but at least he's willing to try. Of course Willow will want to do a spell...
Author's Response: After lasting maybe twice as long as any other Slayer, yeah, Buffy's a little toasty around the edges. It seemed appropriate that she would respond this way, even if she's not seeing everything clearly due to her pain. As for Willow, you may be surprised. :)
Excellent chapter, it showed all too clearly how alone and misunderstood both Spike and Buffy are. It was quite a revelation to have Buffy voice all the misery slayerhood has brought her, to my mind long overdue and sadly only said to Dawn.
Author's Response: I think you'll find that, even though only Dawn heard those thoughts, having it all out there will have an effect. Dawn will share.
Glad you liked the monologue. I was concerned that it ran too long or got repetitive, but it looks like maybe I pulled it off.[Report This]
Poor Buffy, she's so broken now. What she said made me feel so much for her, very good writing. This is hard for Dawn too, seing her like this and not be able to do anything to help.
Author's Response: I wanted Dawn to be there as a character, not just as a Thing For Buffy To Talk At. I'm glad you think I pulled it off.
I just cried my eyes out reading Buffy's speech to Dawn. It just expresses so well what happened to her over the course of the series.
Author's Response: I definitely put some sweat into that monologue. I was worried it was getting repetitive. [Report This]
