This story is such a beautiful capture of the possibilities of S6 - still heartbreaking and overflowing with pain and uncertainty, but leaving room for tenderness and hope - and a far kinder future than the one canon gave us. Love this![Report This]
I've read this before, years ago, but it is good to read again. I always enjoy your writing.
There is a taut realism to this story that is heartbreaking, yet satisfying. Rooted in the canon of Season 6, these are their true selves; Buffy confused, broken, and reaching for the comfort and oblivion of sex. And, Spike, madly and sadly in love with a woman who can't love him back. At least, not the way he longs for her to love him. But, they will both settle for what they can get, and they'll fight, and they'll shag, and they'll hate each other until it makes them quiver.
Nothing fluffy or unbelievable here, and I thank you for that.
